Cannot identify my items!!!

I cannot identify my items thru Lady Shizuka and I don't know why. Talking to her doesn't give me the options, but instead says something about my current mission. What she says changes every time I complete missions but still, I cannot identify my items. I'm still using the Oni weapons for heaven's sake. Can someone please help me? I'm really bummed right now. (
