Serious question: Endgame bosses with horrible servers?

Postby Iku Nagae » 30 Oct 2015, 17:18

Yeah. Most of them seem to require REALLY good timing with guarding to take no damage (gargoyles, sea dragon chariot bullshit whatever that thing is, and Lucifer) and still be able to get any reasonable amount of damage in return. So how do we do so when trying to guard without any indicator of how "off" the timing is?

Friendly reminder that JP players can guard every tick of Satan's rolling thunder because they have NO ping problems yet hits from Inf. Gargoyle that should have been blatantly JG'ed are going right through and putting us in the fucking ground.

Yeah, the game seems to be moving towards players needing a higher dependency on Just Guarding. Even if you time it right, you might still not be able to get an attack in due to the time spent initiating the guard, or you probably won't be able to do it twice in a row (again, because of time spent). There's really nothing that can be done except hope that you're lucky or stay at a further range.

On CS's side, I guess they could somehow reverse this dependency and make the bosses more like the old ones, but that seems difficult to implement. To be fair, I think the terms and conditions mentioned something about the game being made for the US (which should have much less lag), so I probably can't complain, but I also don't imagine that the amount of paying players from other countries would be a small amount.

Or rather than having your JG wait for the server to confirm you timed it right, have the client confirm if you timed it right. :l

Yup, it's a bit of a huge problem. The Gaisou worm, and many of the other bosses from both this and the previous patches (Spider tits, inugami, etc) are much, much easier when you can actually JG....

Although Lucy isn't much of a problem, many, many other bosses become impossibly hard because our connection to the server is junk.

And to make matters worse, if you have really shitty ping, you can't even JG the fire balls that come flying @ you since you'll still be stun-locked by the previous one on your screen by the time the server dictates that the next one is due to hit you.

It even becomes more problametic the more players you have and aside from dealing with more delays, but working with a garg that targets random people is harder.

I float between 150~300 ping to the server, worse 700, and it gets impossible to block some attacks that I have to hope my connection is able to keep up.

It got to the point that Onigiri is relying a lot on luck and basically OC items and mad rushes to complete infernal garg in a decent amount of time.

I'm fairly new to this game (mid October) and play on Xbox One. I very frequently get 3-7 second spikes of lag that leave me 100% vulnerable, sometime 2-3 times in rapid succession. Does the US PC version have the same spikes? Or just ping?

PC servers do not experience that issue.

There's a people say PC master race :>

Well that a relief I suppose. Convinced a couple of my Xbox buddies to play the game, unfortunately they don't care for PC gaming, sigh.
