New player looking for answers

Hi everyone, just found this game awhile ago and i would like to ask some questions regarding it. Also I am a complete newbie at this game so please share any knowledge that i might need on journey. These questions are only a few that i can think of the top of my head and in no way represent my understanding / knowledge about this game.

1) Is the game population good or bad?

2) Any good leveling / stat / skill / weapon / magatama or any noteworthy guide that is up to date (2017) and not in 2016?
*I have no idea WTF a magatama is so please give some general information about it (where to buy / farm, best one to get, where to farm the material to craft it etc...)

I also read a post saying that the community hate rush leveling due to being under power. I also read that being high level hurts your friendship item drop / grind rate so my question is:

3) Where / best place / best set up (skill, level, weapon, magatama) to farm friendship item? Also how to craft / get Nothingness Magatama for the farming process or any requirement for the grind really?

It's so-so. We've lost quite a few players, especially some veterans, over the years, and most of the active ones are in the Rift or Onigashima.

That depends on what weapon you're aiming for. You will want to concentrate on Magatama for a certain type of weapon affinity and skill force.

Once you get Kaguya, the Nothingness Magatama should already be in the list of mags you can already craft. She may have to be a higher level, I'm not sure. But it requires 1 Black Glass Marble, 60 Tricolor Dango, and 40 Centipede Fluids to craft.

Friendship items drop from all enemies that are the same level as your own, with up to a 10 level difference. You will want to find a dungeon with a horde of enemies and just farm there.I recommend Secluded Forest (Hell Mode) in Kaga, if you've reached there.

Each weapon has its pros and cons, and it depends entirely on what you prefer, as well as your gaming style.

And where do i farm / buy these material to craft the damn thing anyway? Do they drop from every dungeon / mob?

The Black Glass Marble drops from enemies in fields; Izumo, Oosumi Plains West, Oosumi Plains North, and Sekigahara. Enemies in the dungeon Daiku Cave drop it, on Hard Mode.

The Tricolor Dango drops from the Kikuzou, which can be found in the fields Kikaigahara and Oosumi Plains West, provided you don't crash because of them.

The Centipede Fluids drop from Infernal Mukade, which can be found in fields; Nether Sekigahara and Nakasendo, and in several dungeons, starting with Yomotsuhirasaka, in Izumo.

Nope. Not even from 2016. All the guides on this forum are outdated to heck.Your best bet is to sift through the recent General Discussion posts (especially the Question & Answer Thread) and ask a lot of questions.

I've been thinking about writing an extremely thorough newbie guide, but that will probably be several months from now if it happens.

Speaking of which, I JUST gone done doing a massive overhaul to the guide, updating it to sound more official and confident, re-including the pictures with proper resizing, and just making it look nicer all around.
