Question about lvling skill

Postby thesupakorn » 09 Jul 2014, 20:39

I've been lvling my skill for like 3 days now and it's slow like hell so i have questions here :(

1. Does the target's level affect it? so the higher level target the faster ? or i can just grind on low level monster

2. Does it affected by the number of hit count ? for instance for rapid shot first rank which hit up to 2 times it would be faster if i use it to higher hp target that my rapid shot can hit up to 2 times

3. About aoe skill so if the answer of question 2 is true then aoe skill is a lot faster to lvling than single target skill
am i right?
so if it's not true then using aoe skill to a single monster one by one should be faster

4. Last question if i use 2 skill cards to my weapon is there a chance that the second one will replace a first one that i just attached it ? -.-

thanks :D

The best way to make your skills level more quickly it to max your momotarou partner, I didn't notice a difference between leveling on low lvl or higher level monsters.

The other two things might require some testing tbh...

1. No, heck if you wanted to rape poor Kijimunas outside Onigashima to level your skill go ahead.

2. If the skill is single target but multiple hit, it's fine to miss all the other remaining hits so long as the first hit connects, it will give your skill some exp.

3. AOE skills have a much wierder usage. First of all, AOE is different from from EPA.
AOE (Area of Effect) hits targets as if it was a single attack. So If you had lets say, Rolling Thunder,
everything around you gets toast but only gives you a single skill exp.
EPA (Enemy Piercing Attacks) hits target as if THEY were hit seperately by the attack, So going by that if you had a Void slash, everyone infront of you that gets hit wold give you skill exp.
Note: AOE vs EPA, AOE doesn't have a reduction to it's damage dealt if there are too many enemies hit, while EPA does and if I tested this correctly, the reduction to EPA damage due to number of enemies is capped at 90%. (was doing 400-500 damage per hit on Wind Thrust IV against single to at least three mobs, I mobbed too much and dealt 43-51 damage per hit when I tried Wind Thrust IV again on the mob.)

4. Yes. Skill Card usage replaces ANY SKILL within the SKILLS BRACKET (the skills 1, 2 and 3.) regardless of where they came from. 4 and 5 are ougi slots that are not affected by skill cards but is affected by Ougi cards.

Did I answer your questions? If it's not clear, I can try and make it clearer.

Yes, you did
thanks so much :D
but there are still some of questions that's not clear yet
for multiple hit single target 1 hit give exp equal to 2 hits?
and for AOE number of target doesn't affect the exp
for EPA number of the "hits" affect it so it's mean that if i mob many mobs it give me more exp
am I right ?

Ok, Multi-hit single target work the same with EPA moves. Much like how Void Slash or Wind Thrust or Charged Spike works... getting mobs then stabbing them together gives you exp per mob so long as it connects, but additional hits done by Void slash or Wind Thrust will not give further exp.

Example: If I mobbed 10 Poor Darumas that give 1 Skill exp each and used Wind Thrust VII (if ever this even exists) to hit them, I'll only get 10 Skill exp if I successfully hit each of them at least once even if the skill will deal 9 hits or so.

AOE skills work the opposite. Doesn't matter how many you hit, you'll only get x amounts of exp per use.

The above is incorrect.

It is based on "per successful cast" for damaging skills. For heals and buffs/debuffs, it counts as a successful cast even if you fail to apply the actual effect due to lack of mind, etc.

The number of targets that you hit does not matter when you are leveling up a skill.

Skills that have the fireballs at the bottom level up faster, because each time a new fireball is procc'd (if the hit connects), it will add the same amount of exp.

So to summarize:
1. Number of hits of a damage skill doesn't matter regardless if it's single target or multi-target.
2. Skills that have multi hit but the other hits are seperate (Firball, other balls) give even exp per ball.
3. Number of mobs don't matter since it's on per successful cast.

Though on the healing and sanc, it's just on cast. I don't really think it matters on that part if you hit something or someone.

My bad for the incorrect info, and thanks SupremeTentacle :)
