If you figure it out , I'll make a chart out of it. My assumption is that if monster1 is very weak to x, that moster 2 that is also very weak to x will have the same damage bonus, which is why I made a placeholder for the skill chart

That would take more time than needed to find relationships because we have 8 magic element and 3 physic element.

Just leave the Element list at their page.

http://wikiwiki.jp/oni_giri/?%A5%A8%A5% ... 0%EC%CD%F7 and Google Translate might help. I'm compiling a list of my own to make use of during OBT/Official.

To note: Zan = Slice (afaik), Opposition = Pierce, Collision = Impact. No idea what Fei yet is, Flight maybe? I have no idea what skills are flight element anyway, so I can't abuse that yet .-.

Ah. Many thanks. I can just have Tentacle/Rhythm translate what I can't figure out since he can somewhat read JP. :3

I understand it is easier, but its not very helpful either

http://megaten.sesshou.com/wiki/index.php/Cait_Sith

^--an example of elemental values found though formulas and testing and ingame, it took longer, but it is wayyyy more useful than "very weak"

We just need people to try it out ingame, if not me and my friend will try during OBT

So we use math huh?

Good enough, but if we are to do this then we have figure out other hidden mechanic of this game first

Like, skill force.

I can definitely read that JP page, albeit I'll take longer than someone who formally learned Japanese.
火 Fire
風 Wind
氷 Ice
雨 Water
聖 Holy
闇 Dark
山 Mountain
突 Pierce
毒 Poison
斬 Slice
衝 Impact?
飛 Flying?
雷 Lightning
with the colors corresponding to the degree of weakness or strength. There isn't any indication of having values inbetween, and I'm not sure whether very strong is 2x, but I'll keep looking at it.

For elements for instance, you can take two weps of same grade/attk no boosts, one with very strong and one with very weak, compare dmg values

then do the same for another monster and check for consistancy, you can do this with all elements and normals

as for skill force, that would be a challenge to crack

Many thanks, that makes compiling a bit easier.

Though, I guess it looks like there are some mobs out there that aren't resistant to Pierce. It's a bit crazy that almost every mob has it and it makes me think it's an indirect nerf to Bows or Spears (is Spear a Pierce-type weapon?)...

--

On skill force, it seems to be attack*(skillforce/100) ... but then there are discrepancies, like Landmine Flame III having 256 Force, but barely doing as much total damage as a Fireball II with 160 Force. I have no idea if that's a bug, or a mistyped tooltip because of the supposed nerf on wands.

I haven't really done any test yet, but I tried comparing the damage of the two on an Ittamomen. From memory, Landmine Flame III barely did 350 total damage, which Fireball II did 500... which is kinda bad and kind of refutes the attack*(skillforce/100) estimate formula.

--

I don't know if I should ask it here, but are there element-type mixes? Like Lightning/Pierce, Rain/Impact etc etc. Some skill damages might make more sense if they were actually being resisted by more than one element. Or if CS just bumped up all the Mdef of the mobs to screw all mages over. :T

Spear seems to have more of slice than pierce, based off http://wikiwiki.jp/oni_giri/?%A5%B9%A5%AD%A5%EB%2F%C9%E0, but only http://wikiwiki.jp/oni_giri/?%A5%B9%A5%AD%A5%EB%2F%B5%DD the bow seems to be fully detailed with the attribute percentages.

Should it be Sakurajima or Sakurajima Cave, for the field between Oosumi Plains West and Kikaigahara?
