I also know that your sister's ign on Rusty Hearts was Tenshi, or something similar.

Not really! Odachi just requires more money, as spear is easier to gear.

After your vit is close to maxed out, or reached a point where it becomes inefficient to add it, add Dex instead of power. This will pump up your dps via crit damage and crit rate.

How does crit damage growth relate? The rate grows so slow that your magatamas should be doing a lot more, but what about the actual damage? It seems a bit odd that there's a "one true build" mentality going into the mechanics.

There isn't a true build, but in general, its a good idea to have high dex. What you do after getting a decently high level of dex and vit is up to you. Though, having some mind is a high recommendation.

As for the growth rate... I don't actually recall perfectly, but I believe that ~90 dex had my crits doing 7x damage of non crits.

The reason that you don't want pwr for your actual damage is because it won't give you more damage.

By the time you get enough vit, you will have maxed out affinity without any pwr regardless. Though, you may need one or two ornamentations with affinity on it, you will not need any direct spear affinity magatama to max it out. This is because the affinity gained from stat points scales in a non-linear fashion.

Wouldn't that mean that a non-maxed Vit/Pow build would also work? The Pow would let you potentially wield other weapons, especially those for single-target damage.

(Yes, Dex is still retardedly good for those cases.)

The assumption is that there exists some Vit/Pow + Magatama mix that gives you max Spear affinity and as much Pow weapon affinity as possible (if not maxing this).

Well, yes and no. Personally, I don't see the need to max out vit, and you will be able to hit 3k affinity without max vit, any spear affinity magatama, and with no points put in power. I mean, if you really want to use power weapons, I understand where you're coming from, but I still feel that power is a 100% completely wasted stat if you're not maining Odachi/Sword/Axe.

From your posts, it looks to me like you want to play a power or spear primary weapon with the other as a secondary weapon.

I would not recommend this.

Later on, you will want some skill force magatama, and most of these are specific to the weapon that you intend to use. There's only a few general skill force maga that give relatively low amounts of damage. This implies that only one of your weapon types will be doing real damage, while the rest is not doing much.

tl;dr

I personally recommend choosing one weapon to specialize in.

Little confused since I didn't play in beta. WIth the affinity cap is that simply your base damage cap? So there's no point in continuting to add vit (or main damage stat for chosen weapon) cause it caps or is it just the stat cost is too high at that point and dex becomes a better point investment?
