All the symptoms that you have mentioned are caused by ping-based lag. Check your internet.

As for friendship items - that's cause you overleveled the area.

Attack stat =/= damage.

You also suffer from a huge lack of affinity as far as I know, seeing as how you mentioned using multiple weapon types on a single character. Affinity scales non-linearly with the stat that increases it, so needless to say, distributing your stats into random other shit screws you pretty hard. Likewise, damage scales non-linearly with attack, meaning that not distributing stats properly leads to lots and lots of damage problems.

I'll check my interent, but it seems a little strange. I almost never have any issues except during thunderstorms. But, better to be sure. I already mentioned that I know monsters don't drop friendship items if they're too low, but even monsters that are within the range still rarely drop items. Or are they just always rare when I'm over levelled? I never actually intended for that to happen at any rate. A combination of several Fever Time events, the change to Exp earnings during the Oushuu release, and gathering materials for crafting certain weapons (Gandiva and Iwaotoshi are two of the bigger offenders for this. I'd have to grind dungeons over and over to get the materials, and ended up levelling a lot as a result). It also doesn't help that the game tends to throw a lot of Exp boosts at me. I've started leaving those in Shizuka's storage, saving them for later in the game.

Another factor for my lack of partner items is my own stupidity. I didn't realise early on that I'd be struggling for those items later on, and I.... well... I sold a lot of them. I was desperate for money, I had more partner items than I could shake a stick at, I figured it would always be that way... turns out I was the world's biggest idiot. Ended up screwing over my first four characters before I realised my mistake. The other two, they just levelled up faster than I expected them too. I've decided to take a break from Weapon Smithing for the time being, and I'm stopping using Exp boosts as well, so hopefully I won't stay over levelled for long.

The "Normal" drop rate of friendship items comes from the dungeon being (on average) about 30 levels above your current level. A run of Marounouchi Pipe 3 gives anywhere from 5 to 40 various friendship items at 115.

Also some information for the future: 3,650 of the preferred friendship item (the one that gives 3 and not 1 heart) or 10,950 if you only give them their disliked item to level a partner from 1 to 30, meaning you'll need between 29,200 to 87,600 total friendship items depending on what you give to your partners.

Yikes that's a lot of friendship items. Even if I use Beckoning Cats and Komainu, that's still a lot.
