currently I use 2 literature mags but I'm wanting to get 300-400 sf, having 2 literatures equipped is a cost hog what mags would be better for high spear sf? currently I'm about 200.

Combination of thunder quake mag/fused/tempest + low chakara spear SF mags will get you there. Gargoyle weapons/Odin/etc can also add SF. Although, I personally don't like having to keep HP below 50% all the time.

With a high enough Amaterasu level, adding gemini/aries/cancer to the 2 literatures plus ornaments should get you to 300.

300 or 400sf is not the matter though, it is not like we can choose to build for sf or defense or anything (all the endgame mags already had the best state). But you can build for different element.
Like thunder quack (105/fused/tempest) for spear for lightning and wind; Knowledge(universal sf)/mastery from Yog event for dark.
