Ugh, these exp rates.

I personally have done enough grinding on other MMOs but ugh, I do not recall the JP version or the US Alpha's exp rates being so terrible.

I simply consider this a grinding game if it weren't for the imbalanced difficulties for the dungeons. I really hope the exp rate in this CBT is not intentional, I found it pretty hard to keep myself motivated to go past level 6 as the content itself scales before me much more quickly.

I've been soloing dungeons at significantly below what the recommended levels are by building for damage while relying on dodging to not die. It's like Onigiri TV says; you need hit and away tactics. Party up if you feel like you're hit a brick wall.

I've been finding that grinding on the kappas in the first field is an okay way of earning exp without having to jump into any dungeons or quests. They're relatively easy and give 4 exp per kill, which is more than what the regular monsters in dungeons give anyway.

Edit: Seems they're giving 3 exp now.

I managed to get myself to level 7 but figured I should take a break from it. It's just... tiring.
I wasn't in Alpha but in what I've seen from the others so far, the exp rates went bad just now.

Actually, Cave of Dreams might be a decent exp grind dungeon. Running it through normal and achieving an SS rank yields over 200 exp per run. Assuming that you're at least over level 5 with a well upgraded weapon (Preferably close to +10), you can run through it in about 3 minutes.

yep its pretty bad and saw couple other players that played during alpha and JP server complaining that EN server is allot worse compare to those exp rate. Hopefully this is a bug because if this is the exp in live release i'm saying good bye.

Yeah the exp rate is actually REALLY bad now. I cant speak for the JP version but in our alpha it was much better. I cant remember for sure but I think you were still matching or at least close to the recommended level of dungeons up until mid-late Izumo. I keep feeling like my current level is literally half of what my level was in alpha for that point in the game. Didn't start seeing such massive differences between your level and the enemies level until Kyoto. As much as I love onigiri the amount of grind is now just plain silly and it is definitely killing my motivation.

Two questions:
Who the bloody hell thought that HALVING (or close to it at least) the exp rate was actually a good idea?
WHY THE HELL DID PEOPLE GO ALONG WITH THE IDEA?!

12 levels in with a gutted mage class, and I'm thinking of dropping CBT.

Please don't, I'm trying to go more or less full healer and trust me I'm feeling it too. I'm sure this will get fixed soon, or at least by the time the game actually properly releases.
