Is this MMO good?

Which is better in comparison, this new japanese anime MMO vs. taiwanese anime MMO Aura Kingdom...? I've played Aura Kingdom as Grenadier class on Close beta phase and on Open beta as Guardian,Duelist,Katar & Warbow class but was really looking forward mostly for a Katana class. In a MMO game I'm looking for an anime based graphics and have a Katana class (and made by a japanese), Which is I've seen on some gameplay vids of this MMO, but question is if this is worth to play than Aura Kingdom or if its better than Aura Kingdom, and how about cash shops, does this MMO have it too, if so is it ''Pay2Win'' MMO too like Aura Kingdom and other rest of MMO games...?

There's technically no "class" in this game. Granted that you can choose what kind of style you prefer playing at the start of the game, that only determines starting stats. You're not restricted to using certain weapons, but certain weapons do scale on certain stats. (An example being bows and dual swords scaling on Dex)

This game is an Action MMORPG. This concept automatically outclasses the older MMORPG generic genre(WoW clones).

Very heavily.

The "style" thing gives you bonus stats as you level up, so they also do matter to some degree. Notice how, with no stat boosting items, you still have +# next to your stats? That's from the style you picked, which is basically a class, just loose.

depends, classic MMORPG fans might be unhappy for lots of things in this game.

1. no class. U can choose watever weapon u want. Bow / Axe, Healer / Spear, or be pure dual swords or pure mage. One of the best thing in classic MMORPG is the variation of classes and jobs. Look at Ragnarok for example, how many classes are there?

2. there are only 3 skills that u can use in a weapon. Another best feature in classic MMORPG is also the variation of skills that you can use. Spamming skills is sometimes a must, and switching weapon doesn't lose ur skills, so u can develop ur strategy as you go.

3. No trading and PvP. In MMORPG, PvP is like a must. However for an action MMORPG, PvP can be a little bit... hard to do.

and when u call "classic" please note that WoW isn't even classic. Classic MMORPG doesn't even have quests and all you do is grind and grind, when u get enough level u can go to another map, reach a specific level and u can reset. That's Classic MMORPG. One example is MU. There is only one thing that u can call "quest", that is find a book which u can "upgrade" ur character.

@OP

I played Aura Kingdom and actually it's quite nice. The quests are pretty diverse and some do have pretty interesting story. However it's a point-n-click combat system. You can't compare it to Onigiri which is an action MMORPG. Both has its good and bad. So it depends on ur own preference.

However if u're talking about "anime-ish", I would say Onigiri is better. The game was voiced by Japanese seiyuu (voice actors), and while it's limited to main quests and cut scenes in EN server, in JP server it even had voice for chats between main NPCs.

Plus, the whole Onigiri world is set on a fictional Japan, with actual location (Kyoto), Japanese clothes and legends like Yoshitsune, Kaguya, Momotarou and Amaterasu, the mobs are actual Japanese youkai as well with drops usually associated with the stories of the youkai. Some main quests are even based on actual historical events (the battle between Toyotomi and Ieyasu that marked the end of Sengoku period).

The NPC in the towns (that sell u weapons and stuffs) actually accompany with u to the battles (think of it like the eidolon in Aura Kingdom), have different personalities, and u can give them several gifts to raise their "relationship level", the higher the level, the better the status (in Alpha EN, Kaguya had the highest status as Mai Waifu for male character). And upon reaching a new relationship level, u can have a chat with the NPC and learn a bit about them as well. This create a kind of attachment between the player and the NPC.

Heck even at the end of EN Alpha, the NPC were all like "awww u're going away from tomorrow? I will gonna miss you so much" that broke the heart of a lot of players, me included ;w;

TL;DR version

gameplay-wise, Aura Kingdom and Onigiri belongs to two different categories, u can't compare which is better than which.

anime-wise, Onigiri is better than Aura Kingdom, it has a lot of Japanese elements put in the game, and it does feel Japanese. While the only thing that make Aura Kingdom an anime game is the drawing style and the fact that they had a blue-white stripe panties.

It's a different genre. Just because you prefer one genre over another doesn't mean it "outclasses" it. For someone that prefers clicking on an enemy and using the skillbar to do combat, this would be a pretty shit game for them to be playing
