So basically Im level 21 and am in Kyoto town, I have almost ALL my side-quest done to this point but all the dungeons here are like 36+. Some of them I can complete but Im obviously to the point were I just need to grind XP to play catch up.

Please give me some good suggestions where I can level up efficiently a bit to catch up. Looking for places I can grind solo cause I dont want to sit around waiting for party but Im open for ANY suggestions. ty:)

Try Ankan Forest (Whatever difficulty you can kill the boss in under 10 seconds) and use the "Leave Dungeon" trick after you kill the boss. Kill only the boss for speed (Your goal here is to abuse the end dungeon 2x bonus exp for total 3x exp). Once you level up a bit here, switch over to either:

A) Yakumo Temple if you are stronger enough to kill the bosses there really fast or...
B) Gedoumaru's Hideout if you need to farm weapons and can still clear effectively

Another option if you can't handle Kyoto maps is to go to the Four Gods Cavern (Where you got the 4 different Jewels back in Yamataikoku) and farm Byakkou hell in a party.
