P2W??!?! REALLY?!?!

Postby Neft » 10 Jul 2014, 13:46

Ok well while playing i saw a lot of forum posts on this site and others saying this games "PAY 2 WIN" AKA "spend cash and get good".

Well thats completely wrong, you can get all the items needed in this game 100% for free just by farming and if you want the stuff from the spin, well sell a bunch of items.

I have gotten atleast 1 of every item you can purchase from the in game store from these luck box things, yea its not always something nice like a button to protect your weapon or a prayer stone or a skill card or hell even a crafters amulet of great fortune but fact of the matter is it does happen and when it does its nice to know you dont have to shell out 200 dollars just to play "competitively" and even if you did who cares? this game doesn't have pvp.

so please guys, play longer than just to level 5 or so, trust me you can get everything on here if you actually work for it, and if you really want to take the easy route without paying money just farm ink and sell it for 10 or 15 C a piece it sells rather easy.

The "P2W" formula this game comes off with is the fact that while you can get a weapon from Sheryl with is, the only way to get the Ougi skills is from the cash shop, which are very powerful skills.

A lot of known free mmo publishers have a history of making games P2W, especially if they no little of what western gamers appreciate more.

First - Lolwat, what kind of tards are you meeting that are willing to buy Ink?

But at the thread, while the game does not prove to be P2W because of a lack of competition, it is also not the most idealistic sense of F2P. Take "Path of Exile," very successful dungeon crawler MMORPG that has only sold 2 things - cosmetics, and for players to create items within the game (at an exorbitant fee, only for the rich). It does not offer leveling or gold bonuses of any sort.
Alpha Tester - Mage for life.
JP CBT - 5x
ENG CBT - 2x

ENG OBT - 8x
OBT Player - F*ck mage, spear for life.

@jung it sells i dont question it, and if they want to spend their money on a quest item why bother complaining.

also path of exile that games not even worth my time to look at, its a horrible rip off of diablo.

@Celestial for the ougi skills you can get a ticket for a free roll, and if you dont get it then well better luck next time, its not that hard to set up a stall and sell stuff, given enough time and lazyness people will buy almost anything if it saves them time, and the other option is throwing cash at the game but if the people throwing cash at the game are going to buy stuff from the stalls then why bother when you can get it for free?

PoE is a thousand times better then Diablo III at release. Don't be so quick to judge a game, that's like saying any dungeon crawler with medieval themes is a Diablo knockoff and any fantasy MMO is a World of Warcraft knockoff.

I think it's awful to make it a P2W. The game itself looks far from complete, both graphically and gameplay. Hitboxes are off, skills are limited, and character customization is terrible.

Don't twist the definition. This game is definitely cash shop centered. Due to minimal price imbalances, not many people are buying items from those lacking OC.

Publishers like CS, PWE, and Nexon, while they need sales, can get typically greedy. This game is not favored towards non-cash shop buyers, as it uses casino-like marketing; a slot machine mini-game with very random item rewards.

Plus, while this game is still very young, CS made the most recent fixes that are cash shop-related when the game itself needs fixing.

You're a CS white knight aren't you, OP?

In spite of the fact that a game like this is bound to be "pay to win", there are always offers for people in certain regions to rely on for free Onigiri coins.

This guide would probably help a tad on offer completion (sorry if it happens to be outdated).

With the way the bazaar works allot of people have been paying me to win. ive earnt around $200 worth of oc through my bazaar, which ive spent all on gacha aside fromt he 30day exp/ryou buff. through everyting ive done in gacha ive had 1 of every skill card and set skill card which ive used to create more items to create me more income, which none the less gives me more ougi's. its more about how much knowledge you have on the game and how smart you are at selling and creating high demand items *cough spears cough* another way to get decent coins from cash players is by farming things that may bother them like orange red-blue marbles tep extracts and other rare items... most of its about patience.

ofcourse once people stop buying things and start farming for themselves all the joy of the game will be gone (for me anyway) but until that day comes im having fun watching OC roll in :P
Waiting for game name and someone to offer to make me a sig.
