Spelunking for fun (no profit involved)

Does this passage really lead from Kumaso all the way to Izumo?

Well, given the orientation of the entrance to the Yamataikoku Underground, and the orientation of the entrance to Seiryuu Grotto within it, I consider at least some portion of Seiryuu Grotto to be located beneath the town of Kumaso.

For the purposes of in-world explanation, then, yes - from Kumaso to Izumo

The hell are you talking about anyway?

Oh... well, I discovered that upon completion of the Seiryuu Grotto, as you pass through the final room before exiting the dungeon, one of the paltry "fences" constructed to keep you out of a neighboring tunnel isn't at all adequate to actually keep you out.

Run past it, and you'll discover an enormous cavern.

After exploring the cavern enough, I recognized that on an upper level, it was the boss room at the Cave of Nakisawame, where you fight the Wanyuudou.

Sure enough, it seems that Seiryuu Grotto is "connected" to Nakisawame Cave in Izumo.

its more like Cyberstep used the same area design for dungeons, if you look at the map in a lot of dungeons you'll notice that they are the same as others.
so either they just forgot to close extra areas of dungeons or they are too lazy to give every dungeon their own unique design

Considering how large this particular cavern complex is, I think their creativity and design is worthy of praise; and I can see how it makes sense - after you've built a really big environment - to portion areas of it out for use in individual dungeons.

What I find interesting is the success or failure of simple 3D objects at blocking off areas.

There are so many invisible walls... they are perfect and impenetrable.
Why not use them all the time?
Why put up one object which imperfectly blocks the road?
Is it an easter egg? Do they want people to find holes and go exploring?
Or is it just really bad laziness?

AWESOME jouney to the center of the earth!!! :o

Thanks for that video view! It's surprises and scenes like that that makes MMO's so thrilling! (and consider that I'm viewing Onigiri in jerky lo-rez on a R60, not smooth and quick movie quality like most of you!) :D I've been to Luray Caverns so the scene really creeped me out. That ultra cavern so reminds me of the Aincard Underworld in SAO!

Yes, I agree that space isn't an accident but maybe some kind of contingency reserve for new dungeons perhaps? I always wondered why Onigiri had so many fenced-off roads all over when they didn't need to bother to include them! Your adventure has made me see them in a new light now! Now if only there were a gate crasher drop! ;)

Just lvl 11 now, slicing and dicing at grinding!
