I've heard that if you get some ridiculous amount when the displayed amount is capped (but not the real amount) then there's a glitch that you lose a lot of money when you spend some at Miroku or something, so you might not want to aim for it.
Idk if it's been fixed yet.

I kinda want to say 2,147,483,647 (2^31 - 1) as its the limit to which integers can go in C.

However, there's a chance that onigiri does not use integers for your ryou, so I can't say for sure.

i thought max was 2.147b too until i started people telling me cap was at 1b =.= which i kinda doubt
