So yep there was an onigiri stage play that started last week until a few days ago.
I received a good amount of amusement from it so I thought I'd share.
Veronica's actress.. or actor, just lol, I honestly can't tell..

I've only found 2 different videos of the opening rehearsal, no luck though in finding anything else yet. Please link if any other videos are out there, I would like to see more.

I'm not sure of the name, I think one of the comments on the video said its Beyond the Ruthless.
The artist is Kenji Roa (ロア健治, he is also in the play, the actor for Shuten Douji (poofy red hair), which might be Ibaraki's dad?? idk).

Tbh, I was pretty fucking horrified by watching the first PV of this. The fact that Veronica's actor is a perfect okama almost made me bludgeon my face on the desk.

That said and out of the way, the lore behind Ibaraki Douji is that Ibaraki was the #1 servant of Shuten Douji. Like Ibaraki, Shuten was an oni, and actually the leader of a large oni group that effectively acted as bandits, going around stealing, looting, raping, etc.

While I was unable to find what you were looking for, I did find this though.

I didn't really find it all that horrifying XD

But yes, V\video games and writers tend to do what they will with mythology, so it's always interesting to see what changes they made from the tales the characters in the game are based on. But yes, thanks for the info/links. ^^

The reason I was horrified, or so to speak, was because it was done so well. I've never seen such an effeminate male in my life. In fact - he appeared more homosexual than my homosexual room mate, who has led me to develop increasing levels of homophobia.

It's the difference in attitudes and preferences towards entertainment.

Ah that's pretty interesting. My minimal knowledge about Japanese mythology pretty much stems from bits and pieces of anime, I guess like Natsume Yujin-cho kinda stuff.
I really wish I knew Japanese tho, that video looks amazing. Reading bits of the subs here and there with those expression gave me a good laugh. It looks like there's a bunch of different videos using that same movie clip. It's great XD

But yea, Veronica's actor, definitely agree. I think it's more of the fact I was expecting a cute loli, and what we got was far from it... Honestly I think finding an actress with a loli appearance would be one of the easiest things in Japan.. idk..

I think it would be easier to pull something like this off in Japan also because they're population isn't as diverse and more concentrated.

But I thought the live action halo movie was pretty amazing. I watched that a few times on Netflix.

Lol, I know there were a lot that did get canceled, but there's one I saw on Netflix a while back called Forward Unto Dawn. I thought it was great for a movie but it's not very halo-ish... It's more about these kids who are in a military academy and scenes with the Covenant and Master Chief are pretty minimal...
