Taisei and Saikei Magatama question

I have both a Taisei and a Saikei magatama and I had a question regarding them.

The Taisei states that it adds +22% to rank 2+ skill force, and the Saikei states it adds 53% at rank 8+. So as I am understanding this, the Taisei would add 22% from lets say at level 1, rank 2 until 9, then nothing for level 2 until it hits rank 2 again. Likewise the Saikei would only be useful for skills at rank 8 and 9, adding 53% but doing nothing each new level gained for ranks 1 until 7?

Is this correct? for it would seem that the Taisei would be more useful, though it has considerably less of a bonus, but a much wider application range.

Thanks all in advance.

Rank =/= skill level
Saikei is completely useless we don't have rank 8 or higher skills atm , taisei would affect any skill that is rank 2 or higher.

Ah, therein was the confusion on my part. The magatamas state 'rank X+', but it is then actually the skill level itself and not the current rank within the skill level that they apply to.

Thanks for the clarification.

I think you're misunderstanding the terminology.

If you see "Void Slash III", then the skill is rank 3 and maxes at skill level 30.

Yea i dont think u understood what i meant to say... Skill rank is written next to the skill name as roman numerals such as I, II, III, IV, V etc. this is what the magatama means by "skill rank" . The skill level is a normal number and can be increased by using the skill alot , you can see this number on your character's skill list by hovering your mouse over each skill.
