Is there anything new happening in-game now a days?

Content update last maintenance and a few warding dungeons if that's what you mean.

Don't know when you stopped playing so I don't know what updates you've missed. There's new dungeons, new story quests, new magatama, Youkai Summoning, Warding dungeons etc, but I can't be more specific without more to work on.
