^ Pictures from Onigiri Wiki
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After you think carefully of the weapon type you want to be, choose a Character Type. Below are pictures that are base stats of a level 1 player who just started the game. Each Character type will scale differently, so make sure you choose the correct type, or you will not be able to switch it out till you get a Stat Reset. (You get a free one once you complete Kyoto.)

- Power: Focus on Power and Vitality <--Gives good Health & Health Recovery, Preferred Weapons: Sword, Oodachi, Axe, and Spear
Image

- Defensive: Focus on Vitality and Mind <--Gives Health/Good SP & Good Health Recovery, Preferred Weapons: Spear & Staff
Image

- Cautious: Focus on Wisdom and Dexterity <--Gives SP Recovery, Preferred Weapons: Wand, Twin Swords, and Bow
Image

- Kind: Focus on Wisdom and Mind <-- Gives good SP & SP Recovery, Preferred Weapons: Wand & Staff
Image

- Daring: Focus on Power and Dexterity <-- Preferred Weapons: Sword, Oodachi, Axe, Twin Sword, and Bow

^Now these pictures are only stuff that you see in Character Creation. Please note that maxing your main stat is the highest priority a player must do for optimal damage.

Now once you know which one you want to play as the next thing you'll need is --- STAT POINTS!

In correspondence of your favourite weapon, instill stat points based on what type you chose.
POW = Damage for Sword, Axe, Oodachi
VIT = Damage for Spear
WIS = Damage for Wand
MND = Damage + Buffing for Staff
DEX = Damage for Twin Sword and Bow

If you want to look further into what each individual stat does, you can view the Stat Points Guide from Supreme Tentacle.

[Equipment]
[Weapons] Throughout the game, you will eventually gain items such as unidentified weapons from dungeons. To identify these weapons, simply talk to Shizuka and identify the weapon. Please note that as you progress through the story, the cost for identifying will increase.

[Magatama] Magatama can be either crafted by Kaguya or picked up as a drop. Each individual magatama has different stat effects that will affect you in several ways. The main thing that you will want to get is mainly Skill Force magatama, which is the bread and butter of your damage.
Important: Please pay attention to what each Skill Force Magatama does. If the magatama says R1+, that means it will boost skills that are Rank 1 and above.]

[Ornamentation] To be able to ornament your magatamas with extra stats, you must ornament them via Kaguya. You will want to probably want to look forward to Fated Contrator in any build for its Crit and Slice OR Heavenly Shield to provide different elements and affinity effects.

[Accessories] Accessories are gained from rolling Nyankoropon and receiving an outfit, which provides an accessory with it. Various accessories gives different status buffs regarding affinity, elemental buff.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:
1. Choose Class type (Power, Defensive, Cautious, Kind, Daring)
2. Based on Class type and Weapon Preference, boost main stat that benefits your weapon.
3. In accordance of #2, after you max your main stat, you can start focusing on MND for basic support(Unless if you are a staff user, who focuses WIS instead) OR you can focus on a secondary stat that you might be interested in (look at SupremeTentacle's Stat Points Guide).
4. Stay with that 1 weapon type *forever* until you decide to use a Stat Reset and enough equipment to completely merge into your new weapon build. You get one at Kyoto, though I prefer you save that for late game.
5. There are some exception to #4, which is either supporting using Staff(RS, Invigorate, Strike Boost, etc., or killing a Golden Daruma. Golden Darumas spawns at random points in dungeons that you are in. The only way to defeat it is by basic attacking, or using Poison skills(Wand's Poison Cloud skill is most preferred). However, if you do not kill it fast enough, it will: regenerate its HP, keep running around, stun you + shoot a laser beam in a 180 degree and murder everyone who doesn't roll or get behind the daruma, or flee from the dungeon(fades out).

Hybriding is allowed in this game, but not preferred as you progress into late game of the storyline. It is recommended to switch to single weapon specialization after Kusatsu. If no action is taken and you stay as a hybrid, your damage output will eventually be severely lower than a person who focuses one weapon type.[/b]

Note: This page will be updated occasionally whenever I have new information that I can place on here.
Extra: If there is any information that you need to inquire or in need to add to this page, please tell me.

Edits:
1. Changed pictures to mirror the Wiki, Had to delete those words that WulfenKnight used(Mage/Spearmen/Ninja/Samurai/etc.)
2. Added small information about Equipment and added link to Firon's Character Basic's page.
3. Renamed Subject as Character Creation Page since this was basically talking about Character Creation anyway.

Good to have a newer version.

A few things:
-It'd be good to have a description of magatama types, too many higher levels don't know what they do.
-I think it'd be good to also remove the "samurai", "ninja" etc. labels as they're not used in game and are confusing, I think most people just call them by the weapon name.
-Long sword->odachi
-Hybrids can work early on, as long as people keep in mind that it becomes less viable later.
-Going purely into one stat is good as you mentioned, the only exception being putting enough mnd for a total of 10 if you choose daring because <10 mnd every 7 seconds is impractical for soloing.
-Affinity ≠ direct damage

The whole reason I called him AutismKnight is cause of the Samurai bullshit. The retard was weebing out super hard, and it hurt my brain.

Hybrids are not very good super early on, they're okayish when you're between Kaga and pre-edo if you have the maga for it, and pretty much butt from then onwards.
