The game locked itself at 550mb RAM after Halloween update

As the title says, the game started to lock itself at 550 mb RAM after the halloween event update turning the event into something undoable (at least for me, sometimes it looks like it doesn't happen but i just have to give it a minute or two until it does happen) is there a way to fix it or i should just drop any further attempt to do the event and play the game, at least until it is fixed?
