Forum - Private Messages

Postby Funaho » 23 Jul 2014, 17:54

Has anyone tried using the Private Message feature here on the forums?
Can anyone confirm that it works?

I sent a message to someone, but when I go to my message section of my forum account, the message is shown under "Outbox" rather than under "Sent".
Nothing is shown under "Sent".

Typically, in email parlance, items are stored in an outbox while they are awaiting sending/delivery.
Once sent, then the items are moved to the sent folder.

So, I guess what I'm trying to determine is whether my message was actually sent to the user I was trying to message, or if I wrote it,and now it's just in outbox limbo, undelivered to the recipient.

Anyone interested in testing is welcome to try to send me a PM (say so here, if you do), and I'll be able to confirm whether I received it or not.

I just used it earlier with Rhythm (SupremeTentacle) and it seemed to work just fine. Yeah I think my message was originally under outbox but now it's under sent so I assume it switches when the recipient reads it/responds to it. But this is just an assumption and could use some further testing, you can try sending me a message if you wanna try this out.

Thank you. I've sent a test message.

Maybe you're right and it is just a matter of when the recipient finally reads the message.

EDIT: That does seem to be the case. So, I can tell when my message has been read because it will have moved from the Outbox to Sent.
