need help with my inventory

Postby Intimidation » 04 Nov 2015, 09:49

So I have been reading around trying to find out what to do with all of my materials. But I couldn't quite find a clear answer. A lot of people say to keep all your materials for future quests, but there are so many. I have so many materials! I don't exactly know which ones are marked as quest items, or which ones are useless items. Half the time, I can't even remember which monster drops what. >_> Are there any items that are marked?
I know about Lady Shizuka and how she increases your inventory space. Additionally, I'm willing to buy more inventory space, but I need to know exactly why I have to keep all of my materials; if I even have to. I do like the instant gratification of experience and rewards when you do sub quests. But it seems like there are a lot of useless items too..
Sorry if I sound so stupid and noobish, I just want to know the best strategy to clear your inventory so I can move on and continue questing..
Can anyone please tell me a method they have found that works for them? I have recipes but none of them look very promising..

Please and thank you.

I usually just sell off all my common materials since I can easily get them back later. Rare and extremely rare materials I would recommend keeping. I'd also give Yoshitsune all recipes unless you have duplicates. If you have the Chidori Form (best liqour in the game) dont toss it. Items dont get marked in a sub-quest until you accept the quest itself. If you find a junk recipe (you can always search up the weapon or whatever in the wikia) and it doesnt seem too appealing to you then you can toss it.

Hey, thanks for answering. Are the blue bags the rare materials? And the brown bags are common ones?

Typically speaking, the blue bags are rare and the others are common. Even so, Jaw Bone is "rare" but you get lots of those. Generally speaking, you can sell all of those materials. Most aren't hard to get again. A few I'd recommend keeping are Decorative Legs (Rare drop from Yatsukazou: Oonaobi Shrine boss), Scorching Furnace (Rare drop from Hiderigami), Eternal Torch (Rare drop from Wanyuudou: Nakisawame Boss), Cursed Crab Claws (Rare drop from Oni-basami: Hosuseri Shrine Boss), Reversed Compass (Rare drop from Beelzebub) and Onigawara (Rare drop from Nurikabe). All of these items are needed in side quests, and some can be a real pain to get (Took me 18 runs of Oonaobi to get Decorative Legs, and that was *with* 400% total drop boost). Items for crafting (namely the stones and glass marbles) should never be sold. They're hard enough to get as it is. Repeat recipes and forms can go once you've handed one of them to Yoshitsune/Kaguya. But yeah, things like Daruma Fragments or Broken Ribs can be sold, otherwise you'll just overload your inventory. If ever you're not sure where to find a drop, either use the Wiki or ask here.

There's not really any set way.

Generally:
-Keep anything that was hard to get eg. boss drops.
-Keep all recipes unless you've given them to Ibaraki/Kaguya/Yoshitsune. The only reason I sell these is because it's faster than discarding them (they're practically worth nothing) and, even then, only if I've already given the recipes. Boss recipes can sometimes be sold in bazaars so you may want to keep them.
-Keep anything used in any smithed weapons/ornaments you're planning on using. Some things are easy to get, so unless you have a lot, then there's not much loss in selling them anyway. Materials for both of these are on the wiki.

Having said that, subquests probably aren't that important unless you're looking for a specific magatama. As long as you clear the prerequisite quests, you should be able to do the ones you want (also shown on the wiki).

Previously said was to keep the Onigawara that dropped from Nurikabes. Keep the Gypsum as well. You'll need quite a bit of that for ornamenting magatamas.

There is no specific way to organize ones inventory. Only sell the common drops that don't come from a boss or a monster that isn't seen often.

Gypsum's used in Ornamenting? Didn't know that, but I've not done much ornamenting so far. That's good to know. Nurikabe are quite easy to kill, being slow bitches with a tendency to belly flop. I'll probably be grinding Cave of Dreams in the future then. I know there's five Nuri's in Oonaobi (Compared to CoD's three), but Oonaobi is a pain in the arse. CoD's a lot quicker to run too.

Keep all yo Oninodachis lol.

As you progress the game, make sure you:

1. Have your friendship items consumed by NPC. No not selling, I mean giving as a gift.
2. Sell non-rare materials unless a Quest dictates it.
3. Sell non-rare weapons (Theres weapons with a Red Star, Blue Shuuriken, Gold Weapon, and sometimes none) save Blue, Red, and Gold for enhancement material. Do note that enhancing your weapon needs weapons around the lvl req of the weapon.
4. Put important stuff with Shizuka.
5. Look online for possible weapons and magatamas that you are interested in. The Onigiri Wiki has a lot of information needed on the locations and how to get them.
Back for now... Getting back up to speed with this Garg stuffs.
