I like some of the ideas you've put there. Min price may change, though, if the jp update is anything to go by

which would hopefully make items be priced by how difficult they are to attain.

You should add a number stating to be wary of people making absurd claims in an attempt to shortchange you.

Situation A: Whats to say the hustler (Guy "A" doing the selling) telling the buyer that he'll ornament the magas, punter (Guy "B) gives seller the rare magas for min price? then Guy "A" scams and gets a rare maga for min price.

Situation B: Whats to say the hustler (Guy "B" doing the "buying" this time) telling Guy "A" - seller/ornamenter he wants his ~junk~ magas ornamented, Guy "A" then buys the maga to ornament but then Guy "B" runs off having sold off his junk?

There's no safe way to do this, its all relied on trust. So only trade with people you know or respectable players.

For this one, I've always thought that if someone asks you to ornament, if you chose to do so, it's at your own risk.

No one made him ornament it. The buyer said they will only buy product A so the seller took a risk to see if they could get product A and it failed. If anything is unfair, it's how low your odds are. For the requested ornamentation, you'd usually expect to use a lot more than 2 magatama to get those attributes. I would assume that the seller was aware of this and presumably thought that even if it failed, it would still be sell-able to someone. The method you proposed is another way to go about it if both parties agree and trust each other where the buyer effectively pays the seller to ornament, presumably because they don't have the mats to ornament. They are different scenarious, though:
-A: Buyer will only buy some ornamentations
-B: Buyer is paying the seller to ornament

-It was one magatama btw (first slot worked, second broke)
