[Patch Note 2014/06/09]

Today, we've released the following patch:

- Exp rate is now doubled

Also please note that the US version will differ from the Alpha and JP version by following changes;

- Skill Extraction will require more Proficiency Levels for skills with higher difficulties
- Youkai and Bosses are more balanced
- Much lower chances of getting Bad Repairs (it more depends on the durability loss)
- Failure in Smelting a weapon will not destroy it, but will just lower the durability

We are also considering of releasing some items that are not sold in JP version.


[Additional CBT Rewards]

We decided to give out some Onigiri Coins to everyone that achieved the following goals during the CBT:

Clear Yamataikoku : Get 10 OC ! (a dollar worth of cash!)
Reach Kyoto : Get 50 OC ! (5 dollars worth of cash!!)

Most of these changes really appeal to me! From the experience adjustment I gather we can still expect a far lower rate than JP in the longterm but not having our weapons explode on a smelting failure and better repair rates more than make up for that in my opinion!

I'm not sure about the boss / youkai balancing part, though at a guess part of this is due to the playerbase operating mostly at lower levels than in JP so enemies will be underpowered to reflect that? Again- I don't completely understand, agree, nor disagree with this change. At first glance I think the skill extraction changes will be more or less inconsequential.

Special items sounds really nice, although from the wording some or all of them may just be for additional monetization.

On a seperate note, I personally am having a really great time with Onigiri and will be playing regardless of concerns. Thank you so much for bringing this game to the west!

Welp, is what people would say but.. is it really only x2 exp even for Open Beta later? Or it will still be "discussed" after the closure of Closed Beta?

That aside, I think the differences are quite nice. :D
Gonna hop ingame to see the "balance" now.

So...when does the "Early Bird Purchase Campaign" end?
I think i have saw it somewhere else that said it end Jun 28th, though I am not so sure.

im hoping that 2x isnt it, while the jap server exp rates are beyond ridiculous and are bad to one extreme, the previous rates and still the 2x rates are to the other extreme

The 2x isn't TOO bad, but yeah, like I mentioned somewhere else, 3.5~5x previous would be preferred, though it does seem they patched some dungeon rebalances, Hoderi shrine and such are lv12 now for example instead of 14 like earlier.

Thanks for the comment guys.
There are still things that we are talking with the devs right now to re-balance stuffs, and also considering of some more minor (but important) additions like adding hotkeys for inventories, etc...
Of course, we'll work on bug and typo fixes aside of that.
Hopefully we'll add these changes by the time we go live.

the exp rate needs to be at least x5 because jp has a rate of x10 over ours or is there some reason why you dont want us to go far in beta?

There is literally an NPC that prevents you from going any further after you've cleared one of the areas, can't go past Kyoto I believe it is, so doubt the Exp is a form of preventative, it's prolly something they thought was okay due to Alpha's exp rate.
