Carding = Skill Carding

MyName1991 wrote:the current system already hit all non-payer hard. Due to the RNG -based skills on weapon.

RNG based skills is for most people (including paying players) since not all skills are available on Nyankoropon skill cards. The main difference is rank 5 vs rank 7 skills (rank 5 through smelting "skill evolution V" in case you weren't aware) and even then, paying players still go for rank 5 skills sometimes since not all skills are available through the Nyankoropon and some skills have limited ranks.

Btw, what I meant about hitting paying players hard was that it would defeat the entire purpose of getting skill cards from the Nyankoropon (since presumably, you wouldn't be able to equip 3 rank 7 skills).

Also, again, difficult to implement. As much as you've thought about a skill system, CS has probably thought about it more...
From memory, here are the things that would be affected:
ID'ing/Smithing skill rank system
Extraction System
Evolution System (evolvable skill selecting)
Carding System
Lucky Box System
Nyankoropon System
Quest Rewards for a number of quests
From Smelting:
-Skill Change
-Skill Evolution V
Resurrection and other rare skill rarity

I also don't think that C$ would be very driven towards improving the game for non-cash players at the expense of paying players.

Meant to say, you'r able to equip/select skills from a list of already unlocked skills. (Rank I to IV range or more, excluding Ougi of cuz)
Skills only available from Nyankoropon remains.

Paying player wants Ougi' skill card from Nyankoropon , not normal skill cards.

True... but after coming back and playing for the 2nd day. The RNG skill troll from the weapon is real.
Weapon with high Grade,ATK,level, useless skills is overall weaker then Weapon with lower Grade, ATK, Level, useful skills.
Fresh new ideas are always better than old ideas from 2 to 3 years ago. (2013 Onigiri started)

Firon wrote:ID'ing/Smithing skill rank system Still ID Weapon (with 3 empty slots excluding Ougi's) & Smithing increase weapon's Grade
Extraction System *Shld be removed
Evolution System (evolvable skill selecting) Still Evolve Equipped weapon skills. Weapon Charka only come into play when 'EQUIPPING', Evolving is Evolving
Carding System Maybe, on using the skill card, the character learned the skill instead of the weapon? Unlocking it in the skill selection.
Lucky Box System Above^
Nyankoropon System Above^
Quest Rewards for a number of quests No change?, Maybe quest now give skill cards Rank I to IV
From Smelting:
-Skill Change Minor change
-Skill Evolution V Minor change, Similar to Skill evolution, but based on chances.
Resurrection and other rare skill rarity The player' revive chance, if that's what you'r talking about... No change.

In BOLD

Improve gameplay for non-cash player = they stays! not leave after getting troll steamrolled by the RNG weapon Trolls.
Paying players still OP, Ougi is still behind Cash-wall.

It's possible to work around this. Nyankoropon skill card users do this too for lunge step/blue fang blade/invigorate etc.

Step 1: Level the skills you want if they're not on lucky box skill cards. Generally ranks 3,4,5.
Step 2: Extract those skills
Step 3: Stick those skills on the weapon with "bad skills" until you get the arrangement you want.
Step 4: Smelt the weapon using Skill Evo 5

Result: A weapon with 3 rank 5 skills, and no, this doesn't put you at too much of a disadvantage since you get to choose from any skill rather than the 4 skills available through Nyankoropon cards.

To use Nyankoropon, you need 40 GC per roll. (unless this is a different Nyankoropon you'r talking about)
Of cause, you can get skill card from lucky box, but that's RNG-based to the max extreme.

From a noob PoV:
1) Level skill is OK.
2) To extract a skill, you need to level up Momotarou who's current cap level is walled off by story. (RNG-trolled at early, Decent at Mid/Late?). What skills can be extracted? (same Q as Evolve)
3) Slot the skill card in till you get the combination you wanted. Again, RNG-based, the skill card can replace those skill which you wanted. (repeat step 1 to 2)
4) 1st smeth 86%, 2nd 65~% 3rd idk, but the drop in Smelt success is too huge.
*Evolve skill, what can be evolve??? wikia says nothing about the conditions.
There's no way around this. There's even a cash item which increase your success for Smelt (that's OK)

*to poste above Firon,
Less players = less expected paying players from pool = less Fun = less priority to the eyes of the DEV/ publisher = Game starts dying = Paying players alone = Paying players start feeling less motivated to be paying anymore = Less paying players = Game officially dies.

Skill Evo has a 100% success rate when the smelt succeeds i.e. you have infinite chances -if that is what you meant by the percentages anyway.

From another perspective, I don't really see how what you're suggesting is not asking for CS to make your weapons for you (since you don't want any RNG in skill selection and don't want to smelt). I may have missed something but wouldn't all skills be easily accessible (and therefore, lose all value)? . The steps above are not theoretical, most players who make weapons who actually pick out their skills do that. If you're not too picky, then it's a lot easier since you don't have to extract, you just need a weapon with reasonably high skill ranks (which is easy once you've levelled Shizuka) -which means it would be straight to step 4.

Btw
MyName1991 wrote:What skills can be extracted?

All ranks up to and including the level of Momotarou's Extraction Essentials (or whatever the name was).

Evolution V:
-Lowest Rank Skill, Rank +1
-If more than one skill has the lowest rank, the highest one on the list is picked
-Capped at V rank
-Skills without a V rank will not rank up, eg. energy ball

Either way or. A game will die regardless. Let's just be real, any MMO will eventually disappear with time.

Actually, that's not likely. Speaking as a paying player, losing the non-paying players won't affect my motivation. Not negatively anyway. If there's less players, there's less lag. The Rift Community shrinks as well, there'll be less leechers, and less morons to deal with. That all sounds like MORE motivation to play.

I also doubt that it'd lead to a decrease in Developer priority. They want to keep the paying players interested in the game. Need to keep the cash flowing in, so there'd probably be in increase in content, and the game would revive rather than die.

Another pretty small suggestion: when you reach max inventory for an item, send the excess to Shizuka's storage. That already happens with Repair Fairies, so it can't be that hard to implement surely? While weapon farming yesterday I had to abandon 7 gold drops because I didn't realise I'd maxed out on them. So not cool.
