For Wand/Mages Thread|Question, Suggestion, Discoveries, ect

Postby Pion33r » 16 Jul 2014, 00:28

Alot of players choose to play spear either by chance, resetting or after they saw how OP those class/ weapons are. I'm a wand user. It's rare to see someone who's a wand user too. I joined close beta before so somehow I had a little insight on what to do before the official release. Even so, I still got alot of confusion and question regarding what I should do or where I can get a quality equipment. So new wand users would surely have these kind of struggles, confusion and question that I had before. That is why I decided to start this thread.

My IGN is "Pion33r" I choose "cautious" type and my current build is pure wisdom. I'm happy with how my char turn out to be. If you got question about wands, suggestion or discovery. Share it 8-) I'm pretty sure their are kind hearted wand users in this forum that are welling to share their knowledge.

The reason why it's rare to see wand user is maybe most of them said "F*ck this sh*t, im going to reset and go for OP spear" when they finished benkei's quest
Anyway, im mage too. Kind type with hybrid build. Nice to meet you pion33r ;)

P.S: great video soloing hell grand forest

Oh I remember seeing that video! I'm also a fellow wand user, though more of a hybrid than purely wand. I'm not as high level as you but I've been making steady progress through the story.

I'm also a wand user here ;D Nice to see the fellow wand users get together.

I think you might have seen me just toss around and be super hyper for no reason at Kaga xD.
IGN is MrsCute, Wisdom sided hybrid build (90% wisdom while relying on magatama ornamentation for the sake of Mind supporting at it's bare minimum)
I'll also help out with wand questions ~ I've also been trying and experimenting a few things here and there too.

Am I the only one who thinks that going somewhat hybrid is not a bad idea? :/
What I've noticed is that you can support just as well with about 40 total mind specced (liike, 18 base and 22 added) and adding the rest into wisdom.
Wedge flexes a lot.

Hi guys. I don't know how many of you had reach and start to farm in secluded forest. But when I first came there I had to leech. I only became independent after I reach 65 and finally figure out a way to fight that dungeon. The hardest part is always the Tsujigami and ittanmomen. First of all I want to start by tell you what are the skills of these mobs. They have 2 skills, a melee and range. The melee is when they started rolling its very dangerous. And the 2nd skill is when they throw something at you (I don't know what that is :? ) The best time to attack this mobs is when they are following you. Why? Because it means they can't launch any attack because you are out of range. So once you release a skill (preferable AoE) they will get hit. Just remember to dodge side ways so you don't get hit too.

I don't know if you get what I'm saying and forgive my poor grammar. But if you wanna see how it's done here's a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f29uwjz57ao

I've been soloing/duoing secluded forest hell for a long time now (Since level 48. It's too hard below then) O_o. It's not too hard if you have the right skills.

This is what I do: Wait for them to follow, then Frost Glaive -> Ougi -> Earth Glaive, and pick the rest out with either Lightning blast or Fireball.
The key to soloing this is to keep moving. After I Frost Glaive, Ougi, or Earth Glaive, I ALWAYS roll first before i try to AOE again. If anything, the only things that should kill you are either the itannmomen projectiles or the unaccounted-for lantern. If they haven't died by then, continue running and wait for the big skills to appear and rinse and repeat; by then your SP should have regen'd anyways.

As for the Ittanmomen though.. I wait for them to line up, then move to the side and Frost Glaive. Highlighting the AoE before casting it really helps since you can get an idea of if you mobbed them close enough or not. But yeah that video will really help the people who have trouble with them toilet papers xD. Nicely made~

Not sure what other wand users grind on, but I have been grinding prospector's forest ever since level 55(hell) solo.
Started off with 5 minute runs and after leveling It became around a 2-2.5 minute run without any speed buffs. Exp wise I got 8k compared to 10k in secluded hell (solo). Main thing about prospector's is that AoE is not needed so I simply spam fireball 4 and 5 which 1 shot all mobs and I also do not need any Mana breaks.

I might have gimped myself grinding here but it has worked pretty well for me, better than soloing secluded.

Once you get to lvl 56 or so, get a Kurikarken (looks like a flame sword) gives +27 fire element wand. put 3 fireballs on it and 1 fire ougi ougi. I guarantee this wand will do more damage with the fireball against high 60 wands. Most people are worrying about the skill force, but keep in mind elemental system exist and are also multipliers.
