Unable To Replenish Crucial Items To Fight With

Hi & Help!

I can really use some player doc advice!

I don't know how I fluked it as far as Level 6 if it weren't for lots of frenzied slashing and dashing and hit and run strikes and LOTS of revival spells and Soul Eggs which I've run out of. My screen demand I do Kishinden trials, but I'm getting slaughtered halfway in from lack of items or skills. I tried to replenish them by grinding little monsters in Kikaigahara and the training area, but all I get from their flying guts are little tokens like monster books and ribs and mucus and silver and bronze sticks but no F key tokens. I can't even re-do clearing the Abou Forest because I've no F1 foods or revival stuff left to stand any chance of making it halfway through. I know it takes lots of grinding to load up on goodies, but am I doing the right grinding in the right places for the items I need?.

My fighting tactic is mostly hit and run slash and run. (Lady Shizuka was no help at all except for making dust!) I see I have a wand in inventory which would be nice to use since I'm tired of fighting up close and getting chopped, but tinker as I might in the Equip window I just can't make it my main weapon. I think I need a party or Jedi Knight by my side for a few rounds to show me the ropes and tactics here!

Sigh...

Daring DEX type specialist is Critical and Twin Sword/Bow is good to use. My suggestion is use bow atm, because at low level bow helped alot, plus its safe to hit and run. Twin Sword also not bad, deal good damage at your level. Skills on weapon also play a huge role like Lightning Slash, Crimson Slash, i prefer Lightning Slash because you will dash abit while slashing, its safe to use. Oh wait, you are POW. my bad :V , use Flame Sukedachi Sword with Crimson Slash or Lightning Slash and you ready to go!

Thanks 4 this, Kyun! You're good! I'm gotta make it to level 10 somehow -- even when all my F-key icons are all blank but I have an inventory of stuff to go there! REALLY need 1 good manual, sigh!

My apologies if this isn't helpful.
It's been a while since I was level 6, and I don't remember if Miroku has appeared in the game yet at that level, but he sells all the supplies you'll need.
I'm a pretty horrible gamer, (didn't even know to equip a Magatama til I was in the teens for leveling ), but I don't recall having issues finding supplies to support my own flailing about.
If Miroku isn't there yet, there's lots of side quests available in Onigashima that grant some as well as I recall.
