Just tried Kinshiden Hell party with others.. and support staff really doesn't make it far. (the others are low level around lv.14-16). I use chase blister for fast killing.. but not really fast actually.. I'm a sitting ducks. Died once.

Tried wand.. but my AOE spells often get cancelled because being hit by the monsters, since I have to mob the monsters too.

Actually I envy the spear users which can mob, and clear all the mobs. I think perhaps I'd switch to spears later on if possible. :D It looks cool too.

Even lv.16 spear can outdamage my chase blister because of the AOE. Anyway, my staff and wand (and I use 2 mushiro magatama to boost my damage too) :

And now I know why lv.16 spearman using Ice Spear VI outdamage my Chase Blister V with my wand :

No.

It does not affect damage skills, only buffs and heals

So heals and buffs need prerequisite MND, while attack skill is not :o :D

Playing as a supporter is so tiring but fun I think lol

My char "Takehaya" is now lvl 28 and still using a lvl 1 pine staff +50 as my main staff, it's hard to find a decent staff with good skill combination, like cure, heal, invigorate in one staff..

And the targeting is suck..

But I have one question, is it worth the effort to smith some staff ? By looking at the rarity of the ingredients and random skill that will be attached to that staff

If you plan to join the fray of mobs, or join attacking enemies, or even soloing dungeon, yes it is worth it.

My solo-run through Benkei (Yellow Dragon Spire) at lv.34 at normal difficulty two days ago (45 minutes ;_; )

Rarity affect the min/max attack of the weapon, and skill I think is more important to staff/wand user, as the correct corresponding stat with correct skills result in high output damage (not more than Axe/Odachi/Bows though).

Anyway, I like the role hitter and supporter mix. The only drawbacks are SP. I usually run out of SP ;_;

My skill consumes around 200 SP each AOE magic attack and it means 2 hits.. and must hit SP pots which lags the flow. I was teaming up with other MND/VIT and that was magnificent (we fill each other SP) and he tanks the mobs strongly (spearman) while I heal him so unlimited HP/SP round.

The amount of drops needed to craft some staffs is quite ridiculous at some places, but it is worth it in the end, for all the smithed staff have nice innate bonuses.

Iwaotoshi (Level 21)
As a blue spear found on Benkei's back arsenal of weaponry, Iwaotoshi grants automatic +5 WIS and MND bonuses, allowing you to ramp up healing and magic powers quite a bit. Although its base attack is generally slightly lower than a level 21 Caduceus, the stat bonuses more than make up for it, making this staff usable well into Kyoto. The materials for the Iwaotoshi are not that hard to get, for Oak Staffs are easy to smelt, and Ornate Handles can be racked up from grinding Chinji Cavern as a common drop from Kaname (not a long dungeon).

Gennou (Level 33)
Gennou is notoriously hard to craft, for simply getting 60 Lotus Spoons (rare drops from Swamp Stickies only) takes about 3 hours of running Seiryuu Grotto's first room repeatedly over and over again. Being a gold rank, Gennou has nice base attack along with a +20 Holy affinity boost, which is perfect for healing spells and Holy-type attacks. Then again, the staff is naturally expensive to smelt, costing about 177,000 ryou on the first smelt.

I do have a Kamatarizakura (Level 41) that adds 22 Mountain affinity, but I have not reached that level just yet, so the information stops here. I do hope that this information is useful to you.

Please make the EXP divide equals... both to attackers and pure supporters... and the lucky box drops equal too, both to attackers and buffers/healers at the back row...

Equal xp? Wouldn't that not distinguish between support and leechers? Maybe something like: You can get lucky boxes and xp based on the dungeon lvl when you use supporting skills that actually succeed and are needed (as long as the rate is low enough so ppl don't exploit this) as an addition to the 1/3 xp from leeching. eg. healing xp=health healed*coefficient*dungeon recommended lvl, or something. Not sure about itaden etc.

TBH, if you look at the storyline, the strongest oni in Onigashima sets out to kill the kamikui, etc. ....with a staff, I don't think that's what the developers had in mind

-actually, if they did this, they would probably remove leeching xp which would probably give even more complaints

-Also, haven't really looked at the comments here much. I was only looking here for when I have 3 staves and an Usumidori equipped -.-"

Making a system where you have to logically decide whether someone is a support or leech would be VERY difficult. It's much easier to just split the XP. The nice thing about this, will be it will kill leeching parties. There wont be any point to a spear killing all the mobs that having the leeches generates. If the XP is equally split people will be expected to pull their weight. Besides, when leechers find out they cant just leech and have to at least attempt to heal, you'll still have shitty healing leechers. There's no real way to solve leechers. There will always be some high lvl peeps who drag leeches through content regardless of how XP works. It's just the way of the MMO.

To be honest, Lynneth, your crusade for lucky boxes is really... amusing. The box drops are not amazing, or really gamebreaking. Lv 4 skill cards mostly for weapons you dont even use. Friendship items, while nice, are easy to get while grinding anyway. The only good things are the forging items, and only for when you get to high lvls. It's rather amusing to see you so obsessed with box drops.

Shiny boxes are always a sight to behold

Shiny lucky boxes can gives you gatcha ticket too, indirectly, by exchanging it in Point System or Stat reset, or Smelt lucky amulets @(Nyarukopon). Also all the lucky amulets, and EXP boost +50%,+100%,200% and the enhance tools will save time and money to enhance, and the smelting tools, saving time and money to look for the same weapons especially crafted weapons which you will need lots of ingredients (sometimes rare ingredients to craft one).
And most importantly, Normal, Great, and Super Rare lucky amulets that can give you 10%/20%/30% additional success chance into smelting your weapon.

In long run, it will greatly more benefit to the carriers, besides of course XP. It also gives legitimate reason/excuse for leecher/carrier business though. :D . So a normal, working party would be difficult in this game, since the game design is like "that". You can become anyone, anything, can wear any weapons especially at higher levels, which you have much additional stats to spend to. No talent, no specification, no nothing. Your choice.
