I'm pretty sure that selling your account is something you are prohibited from doing according to the EULA and TOS you agreed to when you registered.

Lol have you ever played any game where the ToS doesn't state that the official ownership of your account belongs to the company, and you have no right to sell the account?

Wel l Actually some game like Eve allow you to trade acc to an other email, but you need use an ingame item for that type stuff, but most games Do not allow it. for it make an unfair game for new player on a high level character not nothing and be useless.

I would say if you were selling item on the acc before deleting it , like Maga/weapon , then the selling account (with bad English people) would make sense , but that all I got say about the matter.

but As she said you don't own the right to sell an account on game , and if you do, you can be put in court for it, as it would be breaking the contract you sign on with them.*the Terms of Service"

Ownership

A. All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights in and to the Game Client and all copies thereof (including, but not limited to, any titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialog, catch phrases, locations, concepts, artwork, character inventories [...]

B. You may not transfer your right to use the Game Client, nor any of your rights and obligations under the EULA, to any other person or entity [...]

So, in plainer terms, your "right to use the game client" and make a character in the game is based on your agreement to their terms of service, and it represents a contract between you and CS.
You can't "transfer" your contract, or your "rights to use" the game (via your personal account) to anyone else.

While your characters and account are yours to use, CS reserves total ownership of all the assets (character itself, character inventory, etc.),and you can't legally sell what you don't own. You can't profit off of their intellectual property.

If you try, and are caught, then you're found in violation of your agreement, and they'll typically ban your account.

I know that nobody ever actually reads the terms and license agreements when they sign up for a game, or a website, or anything, but this is pretty standard stuff.

No Right of Survivorship and Non-Transferability

You agree that your Account is non-transferable and any rights to your Account terminate upon your death. Upon receipt of a copy of a death certificate, your Account may be terminated and all contents therein permanently deleted including all balance of credits purchased but unused by you.

I found this in the ToS.
Now does any one care? Probably not... lol

umm WoW? There's tons of forums specifically selling accounts, along with people who "flip" accounts. There's also a bunch for sale on eBay right now... Now I haven't read WoW's ToS, but I'm pretty sure if it was against the ToS, at the least there wouldn't be forums for selling accounts.

It's against ToS. Monetization of game assets is strictly under the purview of the developers/publishers, with a couple edge cases (and even those have tight restrictions). The reason why you can find people selling accounts is because of the enforcement of the policy. That being said, advertising a sale on the official game forums is about the most retarded thing you can do short of walking up to the GMs in person and asking them.

Ah okay, you're right (and Rebecca too). I skimmed WoW's ToU and it does state in para. 8 that accounts are not to be sold. Seeing how many accounts are for sale I thought selling was allowed. I guess Blizzard doesn't enforce their own policies?
