Shops cause graphical glitching

Yeah, this ain't a new problem. I stopped playing about 4 weeks into open beta because I got so annoyed with having to hide the interface every time i went into a town (or tried to join a byakko hell run; i crashed out of so many parties because my graphics glitched out because of the congregation of shops). I just logged in again for the first time since and it's STILL not fixed. So I ask, has anyone found what is wrong exactly and released information on how to fix it for good (since CS obviously won't)?
