You're probably getting that much exp because you significantly underlevelled compared to the field mobs itself. On my alt level 83, I notice that I'm getting nearly 1/3~1/4 the EXP i do on my main which is level 100. It will start falling off pretty quickly. Surprisingly enough, field mobbing is still faster than Echigo/Grotto as long as you can actually kill them within 1~3 hits.
However, once you do reach the point that you can grind the actual dungeons, I'd suggest starting a 3~5 man party for sewers. Even a 3 man hell gives a rather significant amount (not as much as a 5 man of course, but it's still way faster than grinding field mobs). Either that or another easier method is to constantly grind Ginza Pipe #4 and leave before the boss room. It also yields quite a bit of exp that way as well.
^ This. I get about 600-700 exp per mob at level 101, where as in Control/Management I get ~1.5k(750 + 750k) from leech kill alone on mushas and a whooping ~4k (2k - 2k). But, like Rxya said, this is pretty much only good with a strong party that can clear in about 10-15 maybe 20 mins. I would recommend field mobs for anyone under level 100 as it is very easy to farm and basically free.
I get about 750k an hour maybe farming fields, but about 1.2m - 2m an hour (with varying run speeds and kill distributions) in Control/Management 5 man hell not boosted If people were wondering how much you can get.
As for Ginza Pipe #4, I farm the first room for gold drops and get about 40k exp for that room then leave and re-enter, each time taking about 1 or 2 minutes to clear on 5 man hell.
Honestly up to you and what you CAN do. This patch is pretty harsh in many many ways. If you like field farming, power to you, whatever makes you feel comfortable leveling.
