Where Magatama are concerned, I'm just wondering whether it's better to have, for example: a Rank 2+ Twin Sword magatama or a Rank 6+ TS magatama. I'm guessing there's a difference, but I can't really see anything that explains the difference. Right now I'm using magatamas with high rankings, but for all I know that could be screwing me over. I'd also like to know the difference between skill force and affinity. Maybe then I'll understand why people have recommended I focus on SF for now and only build affinity later, once I have Amaterasu.
Aside from those two areas, I'm just playing it by ear. This game's very different to most RPGs I've played, so that's caught me off guard. I've more or less adapted to the differences by now, but if it wasn't so different, I'd be a much stronger player by now, much further along in the game as well despite my cautious play style.
If you hover over a skill, you'll see a tab that pops up, and it portrays not only the lvl of the skill, but also the force. Depending on the ranks of skills you have (1-7) you should use mags accordingly. Anything higher than rank6+sf is pure stupidity. Usually, the higher ranking the sf mags, the higher the skill force they give. I.e: r2 sf: 22% ; r6 sf: 50%. Most people choose to use r5-6 sf mags.
