Yes, there is a point.

But it's a secret.
Selling all of my gear for ~40% of its market value!
~4 lv. 108 to 115 weapons remaining
Some skill card 7's, ougi, orna'd maga and other stuff too!

I know that Yoshitsune has the ability to do that, in fact it's one of the first four weapons she can make, but is it worth it? I mean it costs quite a lot, considering you can find free ones really easily. I suppose if it was crafted at grade 100 with two Ougi skills on it, then I could understand the point of Smithing one, but otherwise.... what *is* the point?

I don't know anything about

But it was probably originally put in as a recipe as well as a drop to have some options. If they are going to put smithed weapons into the game early, they would definitely at least put 1 sword because swords are probably the most supported class through quests/bargains/Oni's Dagger etc.

Is Aidama worth time collecting?

Cryptic. If I ever end up with more Ryou than I know what to do with, I might smith one, but that's the only reason I would.

As I understand it, Aidama is used in crafting some fairly gnarly Magatama. I seem to recall a few hefty Skill Force mags needing it.

Any1 here can tell me the difference on STAR & CROSS weps?
The only difference I saw is a slight boost in attack, effects & ougi rank.
Other than that it feels to me that STAR & CROSS are still the same.

There's actually.. not much difference.

Just did the calculations:

The base weapon, of course, depends on weapon type (the wiki's slightly unreliable on the attack values because it doesn't have the min attack increase), but there should be ~400 attack difference for mid range attack weapon types.

From smelting (this hasn't changed and is the same for all weapon types)
STAR
Somewhere between (+7532)~(+9984) for the bonus (the "(+x)")
Average 8758

CROSS
Somewhere between (+7776)~(+10308)
Average 9042

So.. depends on smelting luck. The best advantage is probably from the elements or the chance to have high smelts on the later smeltings with the CROSS weapons.

Too much RNG- at least make smithed weapons have less variation for smelting

I have shortlisted two bows to mount restriction V ougi on:

1. Violante.
2. Dark Arrow Hachiman.

Need help on which one to mount the ougi on. As both give dark element bonus and I'm still stuck on the choice since I have only one extracted restriction V card available for the process.

I'll skip the weapon attack values since you probably have those and just paste the enhancement values:

Code: Select all
                               Weapon 1   Weapon 2
   Level                           99              103
   Rarity Multiplier            1.1                   1.05
   Enh Rarity Multiplier            1.2              1.1
+50   Enhancement Min        2161.333333     2294
   Enhancement Max       2745.777778           2914
+100   Enhancement Min       5024                  5332
   Enhancement Max        6660.444444         7068
   Average +50                 2453.555556   2604
   Average +100                 5842.222222   6200

The formatting is... readable

Dark Arrow Hachiman seems better, both in attack and element (but it's a blue weapon so I'm hesitant to suggest it). Note that enhancements apply to any level (level disparity plays no part in enhancements)

And here's Lightning Gore- just because it's easy to add:
Code: Select all
   Level   105
   Rarity Multiplier   1.1
   Enh Rarity Multiplier   1.2
+50   Enhancement Min   2559.333333
   Enhancement Max   3250.444444
+100   Enhancement Min   5948
   Enhancement Max   7883.111111
   Average +50   2904.888889
   Average +100   6915.555556

Note: Just because I didn't add them doesn't mean the base weapons have little effect. They don't.
Note 2: The Rarity Multiplier doesn't actually play a part in enhancements, just the base weapon calculation (which you don't need).

@Firon thank you so much for the help. The queries I have now are:

- the recently released storyline content, has it unlocked any friendship levels for the standard partners yet? if so what's the new cap? :)

- the release of the 105 skill force magatama ( rank x+ skillforce y% if hp below 50%). Does these magatama allow usage of skills like sacrifice and double edged cut (except axe double edged cut which is excellent in its own way) to a better extent? What I mean to ask is: the double edged cut on sword, odachi and twin swords do better damage per minute now, similar to the axe one, when you equip such magatama for the appropriate weapon? :)

No to question one.

Yes to question two. For reference my lunge step dps has almost doubled even though I lost 30 crit and 50 slice simply due to the huge SF jump from using fake staves (Some people use Araya) to Sky Rendings (The maga, not the odachi).

(My lunge step crits went from 70k to 220k.)
