Hmmm.. it depends on what weapons you use but if your melee I can only say try to nuke him but if your using a bow/fine shooting at him for awhile you can try and maintain a 10m range and dodging his attacks while whittling his health down.

Stay away until he shoots lighting, stab, dodge backwards, run sideways until next lightning.
rinse, repeat.

I did it with lv 14, but died like 6 times alone during the bossfight....
Heck in the end it even was a double KO.

What I did was just to use pure burst damage with my katana....

use any full health partner that isn't Miroku, preferably someone that deal lots of damage.

hit him once, and let urself die as soon as possible while staying close to the boss's original position, ur partner will start to attack the boss, and the boss will stop attacking and return to the original position.

go to sleep and wake up and see ur partner has killed the boss.

revive and complete the quest

You really only need two people.

The eyeball will only focus on one player so if it is looking at you strafe left and right. Don't run around and have the other player on the opposite side of you. Whoever it is focused on should focus on the attacks. There are 4 that I am familiar with. An all rough black electrical wave , a long vertical wave that travels and a horizontal lightning blast that is instant (doesn't travel) and shadow homing balls. These can easily be strafed as long as you never stop moving he wont hit you. Shadow balls home in on the position you were at while it was casted so get away as soon as possible.

Whoever is not the focus/aggro of the eyeball should dish damage out from behind. Once aggro changes the other guy attacks while the initial dpser becomes the new distraction dodging the attacks.

Also if you can try to get ice skills on your weapons. They have a chance of freezing the boss and such.

jsut tried to solo this douche with my staff user aswell... and i dont know how to flipping kill him.

as said above. his attacks are actually easy to dodge... besides that 1 explosion of him...

there is no previous animation to it and it explods instantly close to you with such a huge AoE that deals me 800+ damage. killed me 3 times in a row with it. I cant see it and it always seems to hit me, no matter what i do. T~T

What are his triggers to indicate which version of lightning he is using? I found it hard to dodge when I didn't know if he was using the line wave or horizontal blast, strafing didn't seem to help as the horizontal blast would target both sides of you that you'd strafe into.

One easy trick if you have decent power or a good Odachi is to run DIRECTLY under him, thereby avoiding all but 1 attack, and nuking him as fast as possible with a partner. A sword of Avidya will do a lot of damage to him (he seems to have less HP than Tiamat, or at least relatively from progression, he was easier to drop relatively). Make sure you have full revives, once he uses the explosion, he won't use it for like 20-30 seconds giving you plenty of time to attack and try to finish him off. It's a kamikaze strategy but it did work for me. I downed him with 1 or 2 deaths at level 15.

I managed to finish him with a party of 4. A level 15, 14, 10 (me), and 9.

In the beginning when everyone has their 3 revives, we would take up a side of Ahriman and do an initial burst of damage. Whoever Ahriman looks after that would then run left and right to dodge his attacks while the rest keep lobbing attacks to him. When Ahriman switches gaze to another, the new target then has to run and dodge while the previous one can return to fight.
My friend and I call this the "Bait and Switch". This tactic also works wonders on Momotarou.

When everyone is out of revives and are KO'ed, you have everyone give up and rejoin the dungeon (but make sure at least one person is still inside so the dungeon doesn't reset) and run back to the boss. Wait until everyone is back, then repeat the above strategy.

It may take a long time, but it is a guarantee win.
