I have now died twice during a cutscene. At Ahriman's intro and Yatsukazou, during the cutscene (which is unskippable in parties..) I was killed.

This is a pretty serious bug that needs to get looked into in.

The reason it happens in a party is because someone in your party has done the quest so they don't see the cutscene and got the boss to notice him.

Except the 2nd time this happened, I was soloing the dungeon. There was no reason for the boss to have attacked me or possible that I could've aggro'ed him normally.

And the first time when I was in a party, after the cutscene, I was directly under Ahriman for some reason. And considering that you start in that zone far out from his range (and he doesn't really move), there's no way he could've killed me before the cutscene ended; I was teleported to him and killed during a cutscene and my partner also was stuck in the cutscene. He didn't reach Ahriman till a bit after my cutscene ended.

ah idk then, I've only seen it happen while I was bringing people through Tiamat. If I started before their cutscene was over he would trample them and they'd come out of the scene already dead so I started waiting for it to end

It happens for three possible reasons:

1. When entering a boss battle late
2. When entering the boss stage again after reentering the same dungeon after spawning the boss (even if noone else is currently in the boss room)
3. When the boss spawns immediately after loading (some bosses just work like this)

It can be a pain and can happen in solo.

I feel like number 3 is the issue, this sort of thing shouldn't happen, there are no validations or excuses for something like this. Number 3 seems like a bug/oversight.

Agreed, although something is uniquely irritating when someone rushes to the boss and dies, dooming their teammates to the same fate via cutscene. Granted, in good parties this shouldn't happen.

Having a computer that is quite slow, this is a problem for the loading pages too, and not only at boss battles. Most of the times when exiting a dungeon or switching to another map i can hear the music of it, the sounds of mobs, even players fighting if there is some close by, but i am still stuck at a loading screen filling slowly. That is to say it seems i am already on the field on the server side while i am watching the loading screen on the client side. If someone where to lure a mob near the entrance during this time, i surely would be killed without being able to do anything.

It seems to apply to loadings followed immediatly by a cut scene too. For example in the first cut scene, based on some videos i have been watching (like here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI2m2map_5o ), you are supposed to see :

1 : Lady Shizuka running ;
2 : a close up on Tiamat ;
3 : Lady Shizuka saying "give it back" ;
4 : and then the rest of the cut scene.

Well on my comp i never see the 1 and 2, i begin directly at 3... Because when 1 and 2 are played, i am still stuck at the loading screen.

I am pretty sure that i have heard the caracteristic sound being played when a boss is first introduced and his artwork displayed when i was still stuck at a loading screen too.

So the problem is basically to spawn the players on the server side once all loading screens and cutscenes are finished on the client side, and not spawn them before that. And to wait for loading screens to be finished before lauching cut scenes. Because at the moment all that is launched without checking if the players are really ready for it.
