How do you think Release will go?

Postby xzavon » 11 Jun 2014, 15:41

As the title says, how do you think the Release of this game will go. For one, grinding is ok/isnt ok (Look on the bright side, your making money $.$) But aside from that i think the game will have kyoto as max, maybe with a certain lvl cap like 60ish? or something like that. And the game will upgrade itself from there by adding more maps (1-2 at a time with and increase in lvl caps) which would make the game good since there are like 100+ lvls in the other version. Game needs an increase in exp tho (not too big of one, considering everyone would reach kyoto very fast, and calling the game too easy, (but if you just dodge and attack it could still be easy)) Thats just my opinion on how the release of the game will go.

So, to sum it up *If you didnt want to read that*. I think it will have a max lvl of 60ish and kyoto will be final map until they release more content along with levels.

Ok, here is a possbile scenario.

1.Official launch
2.Game is hyped people grind as much as they can.
3.Then people starts to realise that exp rates are too low
4. Part of players starts to leave and just get bored of grind.
5. CS add over powered aoe skills to gachapons, those skills are not obtainable from dungeons.
6. Some people got anoyed of that fact that CS is now only after money and they leave aswell.
7. Then there is a discussion on forum about lack of advertising, better events and updatse beside gachapons update to grab money.
8. Now even veterans get anoyed of that fact and their leave, randomly new player eneter the game but there is not many new players anymore that could help them.
9.So they leave either, because they do not feel like playing all the time alone not to mention exp rates.

But well it is just my point of view. No one have to agree with that.

Ringo Tarte wrote:Also please note that the US version will differ from the Alpha and JP version by following changes;

- Skill Extraction will require more Proficiency Levels for skills with higher difficulties
- Youkai and Bosses are more balanced
- Much lower chances of getting Bad Repairs (it more depends on the durability loss)
- Failure in Smelting a weapon will not destroy it, but will just lower the durability

We are also considering of releasing some items that are not sold in JP version.

EXP is only at 1/5 for the beta

They haven't actually said what the exp rate will officially be; but it is safe to assume CBT is the exp rate, which is still ridiculous.

The current level cap appears to be 85, based off of the levels of the GM staff.

We will probably have at least 1-2 towns after Kyoto, taking into consideration that Kyoto was also the end of the alpha.

The phrasing that Ringo Tarte had used implied that the differences in the quote above were the only differences between EN and JP. However, this is never clearly stated, and hence, we don't know.
Selling all of my gear for ~40% of its market value!
~4 lv. 108 to 115 weapons remaining
Some skill card 7's, ougi, orna'd maga and other stuff too!

I believe that there was something in an announcement about the weapon upgrading being changed in the EN version to compensate for the lower exp.

I don't quite understand the concern over exp rates, rather I'm afraid that weapon enhancing and smelting will remain the same. At the moment I'm using level 16 and 17 bows with 691 and 527 durability, they aren't bad or anything (2.1k attack) but it's not easy to upgrade them to higher levels due to higher costs with higher level weapons, and it's also difficult to get them to +60 onwards due to the low success rate (3 failures) and chance of breaking, and the constantly decreasing durability. While Greatbows are well, great with 5 free dex and all, I don't think they will last very far past Odin.

Furthermore the item drops don't match the lowered exp rates. I'm getting weapons twice my level.

tl;dr fix weapon drops + buff weapon upgrades = easy game

This game feels more work and less fun; definitely a Japanese gamer's MMO.

Even with the more efficient leveling on the JP version, the grind starts to come to light around level 20 and onward. Altogether, the game doesn't feel rewarding for casual players and the questing is nothing interesting.

It's safe to assume that it's going to be the same EXP as JP
If it wasn't going to be, they would've said something, for example, you know, in that "List of things that will be different from JP Onigiri" that I posted in the post you're most likely replying to

I actually like the exp rate as is :P

Most games now days are all noob friendly. I want a game where I won't hit max level in 2 weeks, but 2 years XD

I wouldn't mind them putting content caps for awhile. Helps give me time to maybe grind a second character type up, and keep the "I was here first" hipster grinders in line.
