Is Pvp a must?...

Anything Onigiri related!

i dont know where this 50vs50 is comming from, grotto should give you a basic idea on what would happen. just that there arent 100 things moving at one time in grotto. you can assume that at the second everyone starts moving at a certain speed the server will have problems figuring out how to place ANYTHING and the same symptoms may happen.

anyways, like i said: introducing pvp would require a massive rebalance and is thus a HUGE waste of ressources.

on a side note: you might have misread on the MOBA game mode, it might have refered to "Pandemonium". although i didnt really hear anything new about pandemonium either. or that interesting MOBA game mode for cosmic break (that would have been REALLY interesting :< )

The Pandemonium moba is a part of Onigiri, not a separate game. The information came from speaking with a GM.

50v50 is just what I personally want. It would not lag as much as grotto for a single reason - many people will die before they get to cast things, and grotto only lags because the particles caused by mukade. Note that player skill spam does not cause the same lag, or anything on a similar scale. It should be better than what we were getting during the monster spawn events, so I'd expect people with slightly above average machines to still run @ 30+ fps.
Selling all of my gear for ~40% of its market value!
~4 lv. 108 to 115 weapons remaining
Some skill card 7's, ougi, orna'd maga and other stuff too!

Only if they remove the Y-Axis aiming requirement for ranged skills during PvP.

Large-scale PvP almost never comes down to "tactics" and even if the developers managed to set up something that did reinforce teamwork it wouldn't mean anything unless everyone had all of their attributes normalized; level, weapons, skill ranks, magatamas, etc. I understand most free to play MMOs cater to the whales these days but the other 95% playing as cannon fodder for their team's respective one-man-army would not be having fun.

The PVP if it is as it is right now (without any modification), will be just OP player slaughtering or a little bit under sometimes killing others for fun :). In essence, just spam your OHKO skills, and you're done. With the right way, you can essentially spam ur OHKO skills non-stop. No need for tactics.
Except,of course, you can discuss tactics with your friends. Anyway, CS need to strengthen their social features of this game, like making guilds/clans before/at the same time launching large scale Pvp.

I mainly left because of the bad economy in this game but, the lack of PVP would probably be 2nd or 3rd on my list of things on why I quit. Limiting a game to just PVE sucks; it even sounds like a garbage concept. I'm pretty sure with time potential PVP mechanics can be balanced.

I've said this countless times before this game needs real competitive features to succeed. None of that dungeon master bull shit counts as real competition. Collecting rare weapons, magas, ougis etc. and running dungeons for the best time doesn't count either. Players should be able to say, "Hey me and you are around the same level and we both use Twin Swords, lets see who would win in a 1v1 between us.

P.S. if the PVP ends up being modeled after some MOBA style,I will uninstall my client and probably sell my account. Thats the sole reason I never played league of legends o.0.
...1/2 a year later...
UPDATE: I'm back under another account.

the thing about that is the video footage on the pandemonium website which does not suggest in any way any kind of relation in game mechanics to onigiri. setting those aside, your not even playing your onigiri character. it seems to me like a MOBA that is in the same UNIVERSE but not the same game. it also wouldnt make any sense to have a moba part as pvp for onigiri. i can only assume that there are translation mistakes or the gm saying nonsense based on what they introduced pandemonium to the western world.

i did not play in a long time now and i did not participate in the hunting event. But, if i remember correctly i didnt actually experience frameskips in grotto. what i experienced felt more like everything, including your own character, teleporting multiple times over short distances while the game itself actually still ran fluidly (the environment still proceeds as normal while your character constantly lags behind and is being teleportet to its supposed position)

to me this is something i only encountered when suffering massive packet loss in other games.
i MIGHT remember this wrong, though. afterall, like i said, i didnt play in a long time now. aside from occasionally grabbin some tentacles for ... personal use?

I actually think Y-axis aiming should be required. Jumping is currently very punishable, as the flinch effects comes after you land.

That's true. I started thinking of large scale guild pvp, which sometimes did involve tactics in other games. Though; its mostly just map control and a very broad idea of what should happen.

Fairly certain that everyone's damage will be nerfed to the point it'll take a few hits to kill people. Maybe they'll do something like giving lower levels extra hp; that helps if they scale it correctly.

Other than pvp, is there anything else competitive you can think of? Hoping to put some more ideas into the doc I'm supposed to be working on. (but slacking atm)

Well, the one who said it was bossman, so I'm pretty sure he's reliable. But he did say probably, and didn't make any guarantees.

Personally, I've never had that kind of lag happen to me. When playing on my (low spec) laptop, the frame lag acted the same as it did in other games.
