3. the difference of the heal force of different ranked skills doesnt match the SP consumption at all. Example: i have the skill "Energy Ball II" (61 SP) and "Energy Ball III" (91 SP). I heal about 245 + 2 over time with rank 2 and 275 + 5 over time with rank 3. This doesnt sum up. i have to pay 50% more SP for just a little bit more heal. This also works well with the normal "Heal" skill. from rank 1 to rank 2 the SP costs are almost doubled with a not really too great difference in heal. Thats why i prefer using lvl 1 heal skills since i would almost instantly run out of SP while team playing.

4. droprate of staffs: this might be only me, the game hates me or MND focused players in general. I rarely get any Staffs at all. i keep finding tons of silver, gold and even red equipments. especially wands, dual swords and spears. i had to play until lvl 9 with a lvl 1 staff when i first found a higher staff (lvl 10 white). This continues even until now. im now lvl 15 and only found 2 times a lvl 13 gold wand (which i lost due to a bug at lvl 12 -_-). the next staff i found is the silver lvl 21 staff... this really bugs me.

anyone can share this above mentioned issues? or is it just me?


Sorry about this wall of text, I hope you all still can catch my drift.

I am asked by my friend to play a support class a.k.a healer with WIS and MIND stats. I was hesitant because there's no good review about being 'healer' in this game (Onigiri). But, anyway, I went to mage/cleric class route path and found mage is slightly more interesting than cleric. And... :| :| :|

I share the same sentiments about staffs got VERY HORRIBLE droprate and quality :( :o

1.Droprate of Staffs from Identifying ??? weapons are almost next to none. I played dungeons consecutively for around 10-12x times (at hell difficulty) plus monsters from world map I killed and got :

158 - bronze weapons
65 - silver weapons
43 - gold weapons

For total : 266 weapons.

From identifying all the weapons I got (some shit quality I sold directly) :
80 dagger/oodachi ( Some are gold/red quality, around 5 gold and 2 red weapon, and many other blue quality ).
52 katana/samurai ( got many Onigiris/Kikuchimojis/and other gold/red weapons so many that I'm thinking where are the red/gold STAFFS??? - 3 Onigiris, 3 Kikuchimojis, 3 Oninbate or whatever the name it is)
42 spears (some gold/blue)- mostly blunted tachi
30 bows (some good ones actually I got some excellent skills from these bows)
37 axes ( Which 5 are RED, with skills lv IV :o )
20 wands ( Talismans etc.. Only got 3 red Wands )
5 staffs ( Pine Staffs, Oak Staffs - NO GOLD/RED/BLUE STAFFS !)

Conclusion : STAFFs drop rates are sucks, quality-wise and quantity-wise. I don't know who else experience this?

2.Staffs has REALLY REALLY short range for NORMAL ATTACK.In order to use the ranged attack you MUST use SP (skills) like and deal with the delays. I thought Staffs can be used to pew pew pew like other online game, not used as 'batting stick', should be differed from Sticks.
Please ADD RANGED ATTACK for STAFFS like WANDS !

3.EXP Rates should be divided EQUALLY between Support class and the Attacker Class. And make the Support/Healer class more usable by :

a.Please ENLARGE the BUFF/DEBUFF Icon on each character in the party. I have difficulties in viewing the Buff/Debuff status on my teammates.

b.Please EASE UP the Targeting/Clicking System. I use TAB mainly, but I CAN'T CLICK ON my TEAMMATE'S Picture Avatar Group! And it's hard to TARGET MOVING PERSON, Please ADDS UP Auto-TARGET HEAL!!
In a heated BOSS BATTLE, IT'S VERY HARD to CLICK someone who has LOW HEALTH/LOW SPs.
My only solution is to cast Sanctuary which is not really a solution... since usually All party members are scattered around the BOSS Stage.

c.In my recent BOSS Battle, I'm the only Healer, but when I support more than one people, I RUN OUT OF SP very quickly and the result SOME of my TEAMMATES MUST USE ITEMS TO HEAL THEIR HP/SP or Die without getting Healed. I MUST USE SP-ADDITION Items in my inventory. Is there any way out to this? Or should we bring two people with invigorate, to support each other?
I also experience some MISSING in Healing, which is I target a person to heal, then when he/she moves around/about he/she got no HEAL BUT MY SP IS GONE AND THE SKILL DELAY IS ACTIVATED so I need to wait the skill for reactivate, or I use OTHER STAFFS to HEAL (which is a boner since it takes time to change weapon in-battle) ! The developer should fix this ASAP.

d.Hopefully, we can Buff ourselves with staff, please?

c.The different strength of Heal just doesn't make sense. I have two staves, one with Heal II and another Heal IV, but Heal II staffs heals much more significantly to Heal IV staffs, which of course consumpt MUCH MORE SPs than Heal II. Bugs or working as intended? :roll:

d.Trading system using Credits. Does anyone has complaints about this one? Is the CREDITS worth the MONEY? I've got MONEY to spend, but if it's not worth the price, I won't buy anything though.
IT'S FRUSTATING ENOUGH Playing with LEVEL.1 / LV.5 staffs/wands WHILE I'm already in lv.13-14. :( :( . (Although it still gets the jobs done though, I enhanced it to +20 to make up for low attack).

Where were you farming? Different dungeons have different drop rates for specific weapons. For example, secluded forest drops level 60 and 68 spears, but not level 66 white spears.

You just have to change up the map in which you are farming, as many maps have a very high staff drop rate.
Selling all of my gear for ~40% of its market value!
~4 lv. 108 to 115 weapons remaining
Some skill card 7's, ougi, orna'd maga and other stuff too!

I'll just throw my opinion out there.
Atm i am lvl 38, running Byak alot - more often than not with healers in the 18-27 range.
I got 1800hp ish, and even the lower level healers dont have a problem keeping me topped of, even when i run around like a maniac, it's just a question about having decent people in the party.

When it comes to skill levels, it seems you guys are forgetting something important. Not only the rank matters, the level of the skill does aswell. So of course a Heal 1 (Level 10) will be more efficient that Heal 2 (level 1) - that is only to be expected (Yes heal 2 might heal more but heal/mana cost will be better on heal 1, untill heal 2 reaches a decent lvl).

As for staff drops, i have no issues - Im using staff for self heal, so i am actively looking for them.
(Edit) - I agree that it aint cool getting low exp despite being active, but I atleast cant come up with a good fix, that wont be exploitable. It easy to "Simply" buff the exp, but that would make it convenient for leechers aswell (Which ofc aint contributing, wheter its boosting or not).

well, not sure if i agree staff drops are bad , as i got tons of staves myself often when identifying. just imo, selection of staves compared other weapon seems really limited.
Also, appereantly some of those comes only from crafting, which those bad staves as main intrigent. i think i saw some gold and star ranked in craft weapon list.

I've done a few run with healers and if they ask I slow down my DPS and try to let them get last hits but the down side with that is instead of doing the dungeon in 5-8 minutes it gets upped to 10-15. They also have a higher chance of dying and unless they use a soul egg they are giving away the bonus exp from completion.

As some on already pointed out The skill level of the skill does matter. That's the same for all the skills. Just gotta grind that skill level. Not sure how much skill EXP are given If anything stand in a field/dungeon and just get constantly hit and heal your self... Or the other person... Then run away to reset the mobs till you have SP again. Rinse and repeat. If you are given flat exp on just using it even if your healing nothing since it's full health then just spam it at the town.

I myself am a Twin/Bow player but I keep a Staff with First Aid for small heals before going into a portal in dungeons since they reset SP. I also Do dungeons Solo since Bosses have Less health. Less Health = Me killing it faster before it kills me. Since Bosses can 1 hit kill me.

Don't be afraid of switching Weapons from your other 3. If the cooldown is long then it's better to just switch. Your SP will go down since the SP regen won't be able to keep up. That pretty much goes for every weapon class. I use 1 certain skill on the bow for bosses. They can take alot of SP But it has a lengthy cooldown rate and it's fairly expensive SP wise. I keep 2 Bows in my loadout that have the same skill and bosses go down like no one's business. With a Support that has Innovate? I wouldn't need to kite as much since I'd just keep switching off my bows till the boss is dead.

One can say I am in love with bows and maybe they are right. I have to say keep one with cheap quick skills. Like Rapid shot or poison Rapid shot. Skill I is 12 for Rapid and 16 for Poison. Which are pretty cheap considering a Magic build will have plenty of SP. The damage output won't be perfect BUT you have a higher chance of getting last hit if you time it correctly. You have experiment for a bit thou to learn the timing. It may also help with getting SP back from a safe distance if you ever run out.

One can always find a way to adapt. I have just given you tactics I made up as I play. Use it, break it apart then incorporate it to your own, Disregard it, it's all up to you. Just try to find ways around your weakness. Even if it's in a roundabout way.

I suggest using stat reset you get from repairing benkei. I soloed all the way to sekigahara with full mind build and then I went from full mind to vit/mind best decision ever.I agree though staff users should get the same exp, I personally don't have problems getting staves. The lack of magatamas for staff kind of gets me ticked. all of the power and dex classes get spoon-fed and what we get like one quest that gives us a magatama. Also, not being able to self-buff is annoying. (;-;)

Never had problem with staves, honestly.

I had such a good staff in my mind/wis character in the beta, and some Holy affinity magatamas that I used staff to deal damage more often than my wands. I also like how you do melee attacks with staves instead of pew pew like other games, it never made sense to me. I know staves are magical weapons, but you don't expect to bash people with a wand do you? With staves I do.
Anyway, in Oriental universes monks use staves as martial weapons just like this, so just deal with it, it's that kind of universe.
Also, Staff melee attacks aren't bad at all, I like the AoE, even more when you connect with that Breath of Light or something, not only that... if you get first aid, hardly you get killed. If I had ranged with Staves and that, I think it would be overpowered.

Gotta say that I never passed Yamataikoku with that character though, not sure how it gets later (from what I know everything gets worse later on for everyone, so whatever).

Heya, me back.

After hitting level.17-18,
Finally, I got lots of Staves/Wands. I'm quite happy now that FINALLY, I got a gold-star staff. Is that because I'm unlucky, or the dev changes my drop rate? :D

One thing that bother me would be, there's no magatama-complement for staff user. (it's mostly for sword/katana/odachi/spear/etc all I got are the main melee of the game).

Also, does anyone notice, the Weapon Prize for all the quests (up till lv.18 at least), are all 'Sword/Katana' with gold star?

I never encounter one that has other weapon star?

In other MMORPG, we can SELECT one of many weapons, since we have all different weapons/taste. In this game, the PRIZE is FIXED. We can't choose.

There are Magatamas that are for Staff/Wand Users. I've seen a few at Magatama Crafting

And Yes most of the Rewards are fixed. It's a bit sad but That's what weapon gets the most action so it's whats given. If the game was more centered around magic there would be more for that weapon type.

I mean just look at the majority of the NPC cast, how many are magic based? None (Maybe one if the Mini Goddess is a magic class)

Which maps do you mean with a 'very high staff drop rate'? Mind sharing the secret ? ;) . Perhaps via PM will suffice. Or, ingame. But I only play for few hours everyday. (I work at morning to evening)
