Weapon Enhancement Questions

After a while of farming Byakkou, a decent Balmung (TSB I, PB I, CB IV) had finally appeared. I'm 5 levels away from it right now so I have time before being able to use it and was wondering how to maximize its enhancement.

Some weapons seem to have a lot of added stats such as Atk Spd, Dex, etc.



(I obviously do not own that)

How do weapons get those extra bonuses? I had assumed that it had something to do with Smelting but if someone could clarify this, it'd be much appreciated.

Also as a follow up question, how does the enhancement mats affect the enhanced weapon? Do I need higher level weapon mats + higher grade (please specify how much a high grade is) to enhance efficiently?

Some stats are naturally rng/(part of the weapon type/name/family) onto weapons, however smelting will provide weapon bonuses as well and those stats are what the failnaught in the picture has.

Thanks for the reply. Just another question is that do I need to use additional options during smelting to get those stats? Like +6 grade/skill change?

Nope, just fire away the smelting. And watch your money go down the drain T.T

Thanks for the reply. I am actually more concerned if the weapon would survive the smelting for up to several levels but I'll just have to see. And I didn't realize that Collapsing Blade actually lowers durability. Now I'm even wondering if that indeed is a good skill (looks cool though).

It's an emergency skill typically used in boss fights if it's really rough.
Smelting only starts having destroy chances for smelting 50-60+ I think... I may be wrong but that's about roughly where you start get a chance of weapon destruction.

That doesn't sound good for me. I was looking forward to getting skills needed for grinding instead since I find mobs more difficult than bosses due to the lack of AoE, What would be a good set of skills for TB for grinding then?
