Why am i fighting much stronger foes?

Postby SilverSilver » 07 Jul 2014, 18:32

As in why are my quest sending me to suicidal missions? Its been like this since level 4 (around there)
I'm fighting foes twice my level and its really getting hard to keep up, i'm going dual swords (so i have points on dex and some on vit) + my sword is +10'd and level 6, But bosses in dungeons are just wrecking me (and so are the mobs) I've tried bow guns and although it works, it does hardly anything on bosses

Heres what i mean, i was fighting this boss (Level 7 vs 14) and all it took was one poison bubble attack to lower my health AND that poison hurts like hell, I had to consume lots of healing items just to stay alive

Did i skip some quest? Should i be grinding dungeons to get on that level(Doing quest now)? I don't even meet the required level to enter the dungeon (That dungeon reccommened level 12)

This is really getting annoying, spending 20 or so mins in one short dungeon just to earn 400 XP (Really? I would assume since i'm fighitng something x2 stronger than me, i would get a bit more...)
Also the fact that people don't seem to like to party (I made one for that dungeon and waited awhile, lots of people passed my party and went right in) Is kind of a downer, I'm the type of person that stays in a game because i made some good friends, An online game without community is like a single player console game...

Or is the game naturally like that and i have to deal with it? (I really hope not) I'm not saying the whole game should be a face roll, but dying lots early on(Might have been my fault, i can take the boss out, but i'm literally chipping its health, Anybody can see there is a power gap here) doesnt seem too nice, This isnt Dark Souls you know......

It's because the Exp rate here is lower than what the game was originally designed around. About 80% lower.

Get ready for lots of grinding in the future to keep up to level with your quests. That or have fun doing quests 20+ levels ahead of you. Whichever you prefer.

Ignore the levels from now on. The less you care about it, the farther you'll go.

For example, I'm level 50, and the best grinding spots are often in the 70-80 level recommended level range. But the mobs in the there still die to about 2 skills. Level means nothing - get the right gear, build right, and the game is smooth sailing on.

Its hard to ignore levels.....
I'm level 8 now and i was sent to fight tiamit (Something like that) Dungeon with lvl23+ mobs and two hard bosses that are 3 (nearly 4) times the level i am, first time i didnt make it far and it took me so long to do it....

I'm just glad someone was outside of the dungeon and gave me a free run, I would have never made it..

You can have nice gear and all, but pure stats and level over powers you (front what i've seen) But you are correct in one sense, i can two- three shot most mobs, bosses take forever and i end up dying lots.... Guess i'm going to grind off this guide

On the + side, i did get a nice screen shot:333

Why doesnt the game have a screen shot feature? I will never know?

Yeah, if you are having trouble follow that guide and gain some levels.
And the game does have a screen shot feature, you just have to hit f12. And then it will store the screen shot in the game's screenshot folder. (and "u" toggles the gui)

F12 = Screenshot.

It's not hard at all to ignore levels, as long as you have enough of a grasp of the game mechanics. You should fight Tiamat after changing out of your level 1 weapon, though (usually at level 10).

You need to know your type, build, and magatamas well to prosper in this game.

It's not like i was running around gearless .

Also, now that we are on the subject of weapons, That free run netted me TONS of weapons, more than i know what to do with (Level 20s+) What should i do with it? Use them as fodder to enchant my current gear?
Literally more than 30 weapons flooding my bag, Any tips?

Also, when do i unlock Momo?
