I may be characterized by fear, but I am also known for my refined tastes and kindheartedness. Even when I am shown to be cowardly, is that wrong? To be frightened in the face of danger shows a more heightened sense of reality and reason, and to be act anyway is the true sign of courage. To quote the legendary actor and director, John Wayne, "Courage is being scared to death... and saddling up anyway." I may be afraid at times, but in the end I pull through and get things done despite my fear.
Time and again I appear as partner and equal to the face of an international company. I assist my brother when it matters, when all the cards are on the table is when i am called to the scene. Yes it's true, I am often forgotten by the villains of my adventures. However, this is not entirely a bad thing. I am never attacked nor is my Princess, like Mario and Peach often are. My lack of presence among villains allows me to remain safe and do as I please.
The only reason you have pride is because you do not fear for your popularity, as i used to, because you cannot fear for something that does not exist in the first place.
PS: It was Mario who changed professions from carpenter to plumber (Donkey Kong -> Mario Bros.). I have been and always will be a plumber.
