Regarding the title.

You just need to satisfy the requirement to get the title. Once you get it, it will stay on even if you don't meet the requirement anymore. (hint your odin quest reward)

Just failed trying to Smelt my level 40 Seikounen two times in a row, both times using a Smelting Great Fortune item and Smelting +5% item.
Total cost 410,000 plus about 6 bucks real money for the Great Fortune items.
And about 150 points off it's durability, which means at this rate, it's gonna be useless soon.
And this is actually pretty typical of my luck with Smelting.

Is there *any* way to improve your odds beyond what you can with the available Items, because if there's one thing that's gonna make me drop this game, it's the Smelting process.

So I'm sure that I'm 1 skill point in Mnd away from having max affinity with staff without wearing any Magatamas that give staff affinity. After I reach the cap where should I invest the rest of my skill points and what Magatama's should I be looking for? I was starting to dump them in wisdom but I'm not totally sure if that's the best course of action.

Also what part of my stats influences how much my invigorate heals for?

Don't smelt gold grade weapons unless they're going to be with you for a long time, is pretty much the best option. Alternatively do what I do and slam shut your laptop after clicking the confirmation button and wait for the sound of success.

Attack influences your Invig heals, unless I've been told wrongly. Depending on whether you want a little more sustainability or just plain damage you should add Wis or Dex respectively. Look for any skill force magatama that affects the ranks of the skills you're using, or get more Holy element for better heals (except invigorate) and damage.

So in essence, what you're saying is "No", right?
Thing is, and correct me if I'm wrong, in order to progress in this game you need to gain stronger and stronger attacks in order to keep up with the increasingly strong enemies, and the only way to do that is by upgrading your weapons.
If you can't Smelt them to upgrade them, how can you ever be strong enough to move on in the game?
I really like Onigiri, and I even enjoy all the grinding I do, but it almost feels as if you've got to be lucky in order to progress, and that kinda kills it for those of us who consistently fail when the odds are 2 to 1 in our favour.

I'm saying that you're using the wrong weapons. Use white (no icon) weapons so that the cost of enhancing is managable (each smelt costs like 1/5 the amount of gold or something) and you don't have to waste amulets on low level weapons. Good skills with high ranks are what make a good weapon, especially at lower levels where the damage weapons provide pale in comparison to the amount Affinity provides.

How much DEX would you need to get 3000 Affinity for Bows or Twin Swords?

You can also use titles to accommodate for the affinity instead of using affinity or dex magatama. If you main bow, get the title that requires +40 yuusai bow (easily farmable in seki). If you main TS, get the title that require 30 base power, with the assumption you have at least 90+dex already added.

Sorry, I should have added to the question that I was asking for base DEX excluding titles and magatama. At least I know now that going over ridiculous amounts of DEX is fine despite not adding VIT. Thanks.
