reminder: CHANGE THESE IN
THE PROGRAM SETTINGS AND NOT GLOBAL SETTINGS!
you need to change
"anti-aliasing-mode" to "enhance application settings" which will allow you to change "anti-aliasing-settings" to a multipler of your choice, i would suggest x8 for slower systems and higher if your pc can handle it. with x8 most of the edges will be smoothened considerably so thats mostly fine
nvidia drivers also offer FXAA which can help enhance the anti-aliasing without much ressource consumption, if you have performance issues with settings i described first, turn them back to application controlled and instead turn on FXAA. in any case you can use both filters, too.

There's a difference point made, but I have a question....was the whole debate really worth it? I found it kind of pointless and no disrespect but it was semi-childish and immature. Regardless of how it was handled. Kind of a waste of time.
I'm glad to see you guys are passionate about something but over something that you can't even consider trivial. I'm no moderator or admin, but I'd rather not have in-game drama brought to the Forums. Its like an advertisement for trolls and flaming, which in turn leads to a bad community (for the most part).
someone noticed something important here. but what you missed the intention behind it all. the thread was mainly created for amusement, thats correctly. its intention is however not to troll people in any way.
what this thread does is 2 major things: showing a major presence in the community calling other people more or less braindead while also spouting so much unbelievable nonsense that it hurts to just read it. its about showing that everything this person in specific says is to be taken with a grain of salt.
anyways, since the arguments got so ridiculous over time we felt that sharing them for a laugh is the best thing to do and im no friend of unhelpful posts, so i simply showed the difference one can have with some simple clicks. not everyone with a good pc knows of things like these, but these are things that they can enjoy even without any background knowledge so why not let them have it?
on a side note: this last post of odessa kind of proves a point yet again: the two people that are "not seeing any difference" complaining about the games performance which basically tells me they didnt have the hardware necessary to run the game properly in the first place. and those people talk about how these settings that MAJORLY increase the ressource consumtion have no real effect. well of course not, if you never had the hardware for higher end settings you are obviously not used to them and will propably not be able to appreciate what you see, simply because you are not seeing it on a glance. thats a really normal thing to happen and nothing to complain about. we are not in here to do a hardware comparison afterall.
