I don't have Lightning Shot on any of my bows because I hate the ability, but when I can scrape together enough ryou to make one I'll give it a shot. White Peacock sure isn't working.

Old Snake wrote:if you mastered you're weapon(range/cast speed etc) well and know the monster behavior patern you can easily avoid contact specially you're an archer use you're range advantage they don't hit you anyway when you get near them usually take 2-3 seconds reaction time before they do, use that advantage. I carried myself there from 80 only thing you get to 90 are extra stats and hp which I mainly add on my dex and mind lol.

PS: even with 9k hp I get 1 hit too if they land crits most mobs only do 1-2k damage per attack and skills are easily avoidable if you know the pattern well. the ghost lady takes 6-9 sec before they release a new breath attack just single line them so they are just releasing it on 1 area range of breath is not that long also.

Range is much less of an advantage in the tiny rooms of Echigo Estate, but still an advantage that I do use.
Like 95% of the mobs are very easy to dodge. There are two kinds of mobs that give me problems here:
-Ungaikyou. Under normal circumstances they are super easy as an archer. But with an army of lesser enemies at my back I can't easily back up out of the lightning range or stop to kill them before I've got everything nicely gathered and under control. And they cast it fast enough that I can't just run past them either.
-Bakeneko. These guys are quite binary even 1v1. Either they sit there like idiots or kill me with their instant death jump attack that has almost as much range as my bow and so far I've never managed to dodge. It all depends on how aggressive they decide to be. Pulling a room with several of them is suicide. There's quite clearly some room for improvement on my end here though.
Anyway, the problem with the dungeon isn't that I CAN'T do it, its that I can't do it QUICKLY.
Last, I'm not saying it is impossible to die with 9k hp, but don't act like it isn't an advantage. Just like my range is an advantage, but not an auto-win.

Hermit crab grotto isn't exactly slow either :x. ZQPMN was carrying me (the support) and 3 others in hell yesterday for about 6-7 minute runs. That being said though, the repairs took a while (but suiciding to the mobs outside gets you to the town faster).

just so you know, lightning shot is the best aoe that bows have to offer, the ability exceeds ougi dark cannon as well as rainbow peacock by magnitudes due to its range, damage, and fast execution

Admittedly I only ever tried the first two ranks of it. I didn't like it for several reasons:
-Have to manually aim, no tab-targeting. A minor annoyance, but still.
-I could aim right at something and it still seemed to miss/do no randomly damage.
-Don't like the straight-line mechanic. I spend most of my time circling enemies so they're in a big mob, not a line.
-Super-short range, or so it seems. Never hit anything outside 12m, aim or no aim.
-Comparable damage to skills that didn't suck.

But as I said, this was low-rank versions of the skill. I'll give higher-rank versions a try on a special-purpose bow for grinding Hermit Crab, but its gonna have to do absurd amounts of damage for me to even consider using it on my main bows.

Lightning flash shot VII overrange your auto range, so 14m+

Also, the damage is 1.3x more than double dose of rainbow peacock for me in usual shot, per shot. so total that skill has 5x damage for me than rainbow peacock V after unloading all 4

Range on Lightning Arrow definitely goes up as the rank increases, with rank VII at around 17m. Helps a lot with the skills usefulness I must admit. I still don't like it, but I'll glady use it given no other option (as is the case in Hermit Crab Grotto).

Grabbed a Lightning Tachibana Bow and got 2x Lightning Arrow V and 1x Lightning Arrow VII on it. Did some practice runs on normal and the tactic definitely works. Only smelted the bow up to +30 so far and I still gotta work on gaining enough distance before I start firing, but I expect this will help a lot once I get the hang of it.

Thanks for all the help Rebecca!

Sorry to be off topic, but goddammit.. why does Thunder beast have to be so good? I currently main oodachi lvl 65, is there a oodachi equivalent to Thunder beast or will there ever be one? Also, Sword TB vs Twin Sword TB which is better? I can see that with TB it changes the game with swords in places like Echigo (based on Old Snake's Echigo videos) but if you were the same level as him (86-91) with the same level weps (75-80) and stats (around 200% skill force) would oodachi's Flame Blast whatever ougi/dark tornado one-shot mobs? Btw shout out to ougi enma thunder slash, it SUCKS.

Well, generally speaking yeah, if you're well equipped oodachi ougi's would rip apart mobs. Go chase down Sliferx if you want an example. Welp, I better run before he may or may not kill me for referring another person to him.

Also, far as I know there isn't a thunder beast equivalent for oodachis.
