What's the top DPS class?

Hey all,

I'm wondering what the top DPS class is, and WHY you think this class is the top DPS class. Also, how would you rank the classes in terms of dps? I'm a mage kinda guy and in most MMO's i've played, a characteristic of mages is to be squishy/semi-glass cannons but packing the MOST AoE dps or the MOST single target (depending on how you specc/build the character). How do mages stack up to archers, and what about dual wielding rogues and samurais?

I love me some dps and big numbers, and mastering a top dps class would feel really satisfying! Let me know what you guys think the top dps class is and why! Thanks!

so i THINK in dps u mean MOST Damage Per Second but if you are talking abt ONE hit its prob gonna be sword because the highest skill force in the game comes from true spirit blast and swords have highest atk so therefore it would make it the top damage in the game altho it only hits once.If you mean highest DPS over the course of say 1 minute with godmode/unlimited SP (meaning no worries on death and SP waste) but Cooldowns are taken into consideration alongside delay time to use the said skill or atk.I would have to say Twin Swords only because the classes skills overall have low cooldowns and doing extremely high dmg or at least when i used them on bosses and didnt have to worry abt abt getting hit or SP.Altho i must say..i burn thro SP faster than any other class

Yeah, I meant Damage Per Second. Basically over the course of a late game boss fight, which class would hit the hardest? Gonna hear some more opinions before deciding, thanks for your input!

Axes have the highest attack stat and can outdamage all other classes with 4x asura spin (Rank 6, max level). I'd dig up the video of the one JP axe who solo'd 5 man hell Satan with 780k crits but I'm lazy. For reference, fairly geared spears were only doing 200-300k.

Twin Swords/Swords I opt for the top DPS class.

Twin Swords for the aspd, instaneous ougis.
Swords for the min-max damage, and almost instant ougis too.

And Axes has the highest damage for burst skills. If you have 'unlimited' mana, go for axe.

Unfortunately, wands are much inferior to all the melee weapons in this game . The long setup also kills. . Even the ougis has long setup .

One ougi from wand = 2x ougis from swords/twin swords.

Don't forget spear ougi spirit blast and ethernal thunder have almost instant cast and insane damage with literature mag

Atm, I believe spear has the highest possible DPS. Reason why is that, they not only have higher possible SF stacking (Lit maga and Cancers) but also because they have a 92 gold weapon. Right now the only weapons that have a 92 weapon is Sword and Spear.

Swords without any ornaments can get up to 150% Sf (Assuming you're running x3 Clean Amaras and a Chian like most players) Where Spear can get a total of 180% without ornas (Running Lit, x2 Cancer, and Chian).

In a later patch, I believe Swords/Axe/Twin Swords will have higher DPS than spear just because they have a higher base attack stat on 105+ weapons. Who knows, we'll get there eventually .

Hm, Swords seems pretty cool, I guess i'll give it a shot, though I've never played melee classes in any MMORPG before so this will be interesting! What starting spec do you guys recommend? Cautious? Not sure how reliant the class is on SP generation and what not. Also can you still equip a bow as a 3rd weapon or whatever just to kite bosses around? What's the twin-swords playstyle revolve around?
