kurodoll wrote:If you've been playing the game for a while, and you're a pretty high level, you should know how to use your damn maps! Not the one at the top right corner. No, pressing "M" and LOOKING AT WHERE YOU ARE AND HOW TO GET TO WHERE YOU NEED TO GO!

I don't know what's the problem here.

Most popular dungeons have ppl waiting outside the entrance for pub party like Byakkou, Shinoda, Secluded and Grotto. I don't think your case applies here.

I think your case mostly applies for joining from town or any map that doesn't have the dungeon that you requested help for. Usually if this is the case, higher level players never bother to go to low level map unless for specific reason. Its the low level that usually requests for help from higher levels to help them complete the dungeon. Now here's the thing.. you request help from high level, hoping that not only the high level helps you clear the dungeon but at the same time, giving you what ever assistance that you need from them, like becoming your personal GPS, your personal buffers, your personal next-quest-helper and so on... right?

The way i see your question is.. is like you know how to use the map function, yet you don't want to use it, because you're expecting the high level to do it for you. The common sense you applied here is that - he is higher level, so he SHOULD know!

I'm not sure if you're being rude or what.. but i like a party where both high levels and low levels helped each other. I don't mind ppl leeching in my party, but not when relying on me on every single thing. If the newbie knows the map, then sure i'll ask them to lead the way.. if not then both can look for it together. Simple thing right? If both didn't know, then what to do then? Do you expect the high level to open Onigiri wiki and check it for you, while you're acting like a low level that knows nothing?

Come on.. when i was a newbie here, i oftenly checked for info in the wiki and try to be less relying on high level when i partying with them. I offered help as much as i could, and getting good chunk of exp in return. In the end, i got their names in the friend list, and they wanted me to join their party when they're looking for ppl.

Yours is just relying too much on the high levels. Give them a break.. and don't expect so much from them just because they're high levels. Remember this.. not all high levels gained their levels through soloing quests and journeying/exploring. Most of them gained their levels through pure leeching.. and they dedicated their time solely on leeching only, and less exploring, so they might rarely use certain game functions, and less knowledge about maps and dungeons in Onigiri.

Kurodoll is correct. Her pet peeve of players not using maps is not a question.
Her topic of this thread is a question however, but "what are your gaming pet peeves?" is a completely legitimate question.

It is common to refer to the original poster as OP. If you want to refer to a user who isn't the OP, generally you would use the username.
Males almost never have "doll" in their username.

It's all about strategy of how u try to create/edit ur post, and we all already know tht no such person would ignore tht button(M) if tht person in same area. Plus no one would make this kind of post for somethin this simple unless they imagine their situation and it's all imaginary when tryin to rage at high lvl... :?

I run into people every other day (lv. 60+) who don't know how to use their map.
The most common for me is when I find a boss in Nether Seki, and tell someone where to go to find me. I will give them a direction relative to a dungeon nearby. I would say about a third of the time I will end up having to leave my death scythe to go find that person so they can follow me back.

And no. Just no. The edit button is there to clarify something. Just because someone edits their post to make it easier to understand, doesn't mean their some strategic edit button rage troll.

Using OP to refer to the original poster is pretty common around the net; due to it being the mannerism of a certain part of the net. This is literally one of the most common things you will see....

Pronouns bro. You refer to them once, and then use it again when it is unclear. I would not go around saying "OP commented on x, but OP's opinion....". That said, I agree with you on referring to someone as male if you do not know their actual gender. I think that it is actually the OP's problem, and not ours, that she feels offended being referred to as a male: its something one just has to get used to on the net.

There is no indication in KonaKona's post the you will stop posting which you should have done long ago before you even considered bumping a dead thread back to page one for no reason at all.
Sheiko wrote:Sorry but it's not tht common to use the word such as OP for referring Original Poster in forum since they hav other meaning as well, since it is OP if u get it.

OP in reference to Original Poster is if not the most, one of the most commonly used abbreviation in online forums and boards. Not to mention it can be used in every single thread ever made.

I'm slightly amused how you think referring to a user by their username is deeply offending while targeting them by "he/him" isn't.
I see no difference between using usernames or not.

Sheiko wrote:Are we even talkin about finding the boss in tht big map with no pinpoint location, or find only a dungeon tht almost never move in same area? Your last sentence here doesn't make sense. but,
My example was in reference to:
Sheiko wrote:It's all about strategy of how u try to create/edit ur post, and we all already know tht no such person would ignore tht button(M) if tht person in same area. Plus no one would make this kind of post for somethin this simple unless they imagine their situation and it's all imaginary when tryin to rage at high lvl... :?

If you link your quote to my example you will see that such players do exist who either don't use their maps, or don't know how to use them.
Because these players exist, they cannot be imaginary.
Don't try to argue either that using a map to find a dungeon is different than finding a location relative to a dungeon.
"Go to X dungeon" and "Go to the left of X dungeon" is essentially the same thing except the latter has a second step and you must look for a stationary person rather than a fixed dungeon.

Sheiko wrote:And it doesn't mean that they are correcting mistakes by adding/removing.

In this case, Kurodoll is editing to clarify her post.

Sheiko wrote:It ain't tht far, actually it's really close while tryin to explain. And it wasn't supposed to be at first.

I will say it again, this is not a rage thread nor is it close to one. This is a discussion about pet peeves, which is closer related to ranting.
Saying so just proves you must not have seen an actual rage thread before.

Sheiko wrote:Say tht u want her to post her fullscreen pic with lvl and IGN then, it might even prove somethin tht it's related to her.

Once again, the purpose of linking AND bumping that thread? Kurodoll's own level or IGN is irrelevant to this discussion. Kurodoll mentioned how she can be annoyed by players higher level than herself, however the actual level is not important. It is more of a reference point. In general, with anything in life, between two individuals, whoever is senior should share the same knowledge as the junior and more. The junior obviously is not expect to know as much as their senior. So once again, Kurodoll mentioned her pet peeve about "high level players" because they should know more than herself. Encompassing all players to include lower levels would be unfair since there's no standard for what they're expected to know.

Sheiko wrote:Juz like u who don't like faggots, everyone who's been explaining to her also don't like faggots.

Also irrelevant. Kurodoll has done nothing along the lines of faggotry. She poorly stated a pet peeve that was easily misunderstood, and edited it so that others would understand it. Not having a life, I've read this thread from the start and seen how OP has edited her first post over the past days.
As you should know from my past posts, I do not care for anyone, nor do I care about anyone. I am not defending OP in particular or trying to attack you. You simply have loose ends in your argument that I felt I wanted to clarify. Players lacking the capability to use their own map is something that's bothered me lately as well so it is a legitimate pet peeve.
I am done here, if you choose to reply, I will reply in the form of a PM since I feel like I've sidetracked this thread with my wall of text. >_<

From wiki
"A pet peeve or pet hate is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to themselves, to a greater degree than others may find it."

Basically something that kinda annoys you but not necessarily annoying to everyone.

Now ur juz twisting wht kurodoll juz said, she hates how she was asked to giv direction in same area cuz they don't use map(M). And now u really hav to pinpoint direction in the area of map(M) juz to find the same dungeon in tht same area?(This is juz a random answer u came up with)
