[Edo] New Content Discussion Thread

Whats everyone think of it? So far, I'm personally enjoying the difficulty; though I feel many others may be having trouble.

Anyways, I think that the most efficient spots are probably...

Ryou - Azami Crossing or Old Content
Exp - Ginza management
105 Red Weapon Drops: Marunouchi 5th

Also, it seems like this content almost disallows leeching for exp grind, and people are going to step it up.

What do you guys think of the spots, relative ease at which exp can now be gained, and the difficulty? Does anyone have anything they're getting absurdly annoyed at?
Selling all of my gear for ~40% of its market value!

Haven't been able to log in much but the xp seems a lot better.
The only downside is that with higher xp per enemy with less enemies is that friendship items are going to get hard to collect compared to before imo :/

Well, I also like that they added in a quest for another bow sf :)

The boss difficulty is good so far from what I've seen and I like how they added the poison archers.

I feel that the level jump for the dungeons was quite large. Doing hell runs easily in any Echigo map, to struggling in a normal run in the new maps is a bit much. Granted many players were just sitting around and this provides them much more entertainment such as yourself, but this might also contribute to the oh so evident decline of players. Now that there are no more carries, the lower levels really just gather around the nakasendo area hoping that someone will take them to Edo, because it seems that even a group of level 70+ people that got there by leeching HCG may not be able to beat normal. I mean, I'm not saying that the leechers can't just start grinding themselves, but they got to their levels for free. Some of them still wear things like Mushiros, because they don't realize how trivial a magatama like that is at that point in the game. After seeing how much time it takes to actually level up to a sufficient level to take themselves through to edo, people might just quit. Both Echigo and Kaga are virtually ghost towns now, and just about all the high levels are so far away from the lower levels. It's pretty much a barricade from them. Now, I personally felt extremely annoyed seeing people leeching at high levels and still wearing bad magatamas, and giving out bad advice to other low levels, because it tells me they've been carried through the whole game. I feel almost guilty that I enjoy seeing the lower levels realize that wear rank 8 SF magatamas, and 3 defense magatamas is a bad idea, because they have to learn the game through actually playing it. I'm also not saying all leechers are bad. Some actually know what they're doing, it could be an alt acc, and not everyone can carry etc etc.
That aside, a lot of people are just grinding the field mobs instead of doing actual dungeons. Increasing the levels for the dungeons was good because a lot of people partnered up, at first, but now it's more solo since there are no low levels. Although, who's actually ready to carry a full party? In essence, the towns before nakasendo were too easy, and the highest obtainable weapons were like 80+, and now weapon levels are in the hundreds.(I'm not saying there aren't weapons in the 90s, I'm just saying that's what it seems like. From Cyphers to Satan weapons as an example.) I feel that there was no middle ground to link the 2 areas. I think the exp is great which helps a lot, but it requires a higher level than the dungeon level to effectively earn the exp. Or resort to field mobs. Which, again, many people have resorted to. That notion reminds me of solitaire, a game made for the lonely. People grinding in fields by themselves just to level.

Enjoying the difficulty though some of the bosses seem to have a bit too much health... then again that could be because I'm still using a level 76 weapon. It was fun being repeatedly one-shot by Satan while learning his attack hitboxes and The Elder was just great in general.

The jump in experience gain and the encouraged party participation are the two things that stopped me from quitting; if I had to grind Estate for a few weeks just to reach a point where I could upgrade my weapon I wasn't go to bother. I'm a bit worried about how this is going to hurt Onigiri's already awful retention rate. With the brick wall still existing in the form of a level 60 requirement to progress the story and nobody bothering to carry Secluded/Estate/Grotto anymore just how many people are going to deal with the horrible grind? CS desperately needs to incorporate some kind of tiered experience boost to get people up to Edo levels faster.

I'm concerned about the absurd weapon scaling. As we get higher and higher, affinity becomes a much smaller portion of our overall attack and weapons make up a vast majority of our raw attack meaning the difference in weapon strength becomes more and more pronounced. Weapon types are nowhere near being balanced and it's getting closer to the point where there is a "right and wrong" weapon choice. Bows and wands barely break 5k attack on their strongest weapon, spears are a little higher up and swords are above 6k. Twin swords and oodachis are right around 7k and axes over 9k. Factor in smelting boosts and it only gets worse. Nobody should ever feel like they're a burden on the group simply because of their weapon choice.

Tbh the lvl jump isnt that big there are lvl 90 dungeons in echigo/ nakasendo before u reach edo so the jump is only 10 lvls in edo.

And yea i like the challenge tho some of the dungeons might be way too much such as Satan and Elder Where there is no difference between hell and normal because they both just 1 shot you no matter what difficulty the only thing that changes is their hp

I was enjoying the hunt with Edo new content.
Thanks for everyone kind enough to join the party ;). It is especially good with good teamwork.
One lure and tank the boss, one support, one disabler/just nuker. This feels just like I'm playing a new MMORPG, not like was before Edo.
As for me we hunt with 3 ppl and successfully beated half the Edo content which has lv.105+ monsters, me in lv.83 is very happy :D. And only with lv.77/80 weapons ^_^. The difficulty feels great, yet where are the people who wants teamwork? :D. I guess we are selfish creature
---
Still remembered yesterday,
I was surprised with the upgrade of Skeleton Archer which has poison attack which instantly OHKO me, even with me wearing def/mdef mags   .
I guess level disparity/differences are too huge for me to tank :D.

@Tekato
I pm'ed you :). Would you help me team up to clear throught this new content?
IGN : Lynneth (lv.92/Reraised as Zombies) - Looking for more exciting experience..Rather than being depressed, better just play! :D. Let's grind for teamwork.. or not? :P :). Looking for party to grind lv.90+ weapon. Whisp me IGN!-In hiatus for 2 days-

10 levels is a huge jump man.
First dungeon was like: "oh hey, level 80+! I can do this!"
And then the next was: "oh level 90+. Okay... Imma try this"
And then the next (which was sewer management): "LEVEL 100 WHAT THE FU- nevermind back to grotto for weeks"

And these are all comparisons between the first 3 new dungeons.
On a side note, I do understand the need to suffer a while by grinding. But still... That 10 level difference... 2gud
