Instant rank 7 skills(which, for the skills I've looked at, range from 50-80% more damage compared to rank 5) rather than having to farm to extract for several hours. The odds of ornamenting basically coming down to the odds of getting the stats you want rather than factoring in chance of failure(which is absurdly high for the newer ornamentations. Even for Fated you've got a 1/4 chance of succeeding both ornaments, never mind actually getting the stats you want. Good luck actually getting a few of the 30% base success ornaments without spending OC.) Ougis; do I really need to expand on this? +100 whenever you want when +70 is normally about as high as you'd want to go without taking some serious risks because you need to save what little reset buttons you've gotten from boxes. Don't think that last +30 is going to make much of a difference? +80 to +100 is 20-25% overall damage because of the way enhancement scales. Have fun spending months smelting one of the new 10x gold weapons to +100 without a backlog of Nyankoropon-fueled Artisan's Treasure Swords while OC buyers can do it in ten minutes. The most you have to worry about is farming Ryou(from a level 50 dungeon.)

Admittedly this is all stuff you can get over time but that's the point. Onigiri lets you buy power; a lot of it in a very small amount of time with little to no effort. Anyone who thinks they're accomplishing anything by throwing money at the game is delusional.

Even as someone who spends money on the game, I do agree with this. Money gives me more power than I should have Hahaha (because I can)

In What MMORPG is cash shop items not op and help with success rates? this is the only mmo that actually lets you trade ingame items to earn "OC" which i've said already the only difference between "real money" spenders and regular players is how quickly u earn OC

Any MMORPG that utilizes a "pay for convenience" model over "pay to win." There are a ton of simple things that could be done to promote an even playing field while retaining the clear advantages that come with buying OC that I doubt will ever happen. For example: Why are rank 7 skills effectively locked behind Nyankoropon? I know you can see them appear after identification once you and Shizuka progress enough but it's so ridiculously uncommon to get the skill you want and actually retain it after applying other skills you want on the weapon that it may as well not even be a possibility. Couple that with the fact that all end-game weapons are crafted and the problem is monumentally worse. What would be the harm in allowing smelting to raise skills to rank 7, even if it was tacked on as an even more expensive artisan option? Not only does the current system give OC binging a huge advantage in time investments but it blatantly provides otherwise unrealistically attainable power. That's practically the definition of pay to win.

I don't see being able to sell things in-game for OC being a positive point considering the game is intentionally designed that way to encourage more people to spend money(and to keep available OC in the economy constantly shrinking.) Almost any other game does the same thing through in-game currency.

I share with you my experience wasting years on MMORPGs:

You are so famous and high level people start to swear at you!

You have no obligation to do anything for others, tell him: "**** you, **** off", switch chat and off to do whatever. If said person post your response on forum in attempt to damage your reputation, simply tell him again: "**** you, **** off". Trying to act mature, reasonable or the "bigger person" in an ONLINE GAME simply result in irritation. In fact, you should put it in practice and tell me to **** off for trying to give you advice.

Not going to call out names, but that happened when I stopped in Echigo for less than a minute (All 5 messages actually popped up in less than 30 seconds total) just to look at the stalls there. Events like this have been happening more recently over the course of the last week as well. Why is it that people feel as if they're entitled to get help as soon as they ask? I don't mind helping people out here and there, but recently I've had multiple people come begging for carries etc. etc.

Anyways, just wanted to make people aware that this stuff is starting to bug not just me, but a few of the other higher level players as well. The era of leech parties is over... try partying up with other people (Using the relatively new and convenient Grouping and Recruitment board) to try clearing dungeons as a team...

(Yes, I'm somewhat irritated right now.)

Edit: I just had another person come for help within 15 seconds of posting this.

I highly suspect there is a lot more to the conversation posted here. You cropped that conversation awfully short.
There are two sides to every coin...

Edit: Although I do agree that's a good suggestion to use the Grouping and Recruitment board. Sadly it's rarely used.

I cut it short because that's all that was said. I did not want to respond to this person after that fourth line so I did not.

It sounded like you was talking to people then you didn't feel like talking to lowbies so you ignored him/her with the group asking for help. Then you kept talking to the people(probably friends) around you and kept ignoring their request, overall you should of just said no. I experienced this in many other games where you are new(or need help) the person in the lobby bragging(most likely) then ignore the person in need, instead of saying no just ignore them which is disrespectful.

Nothing new, OP make sure you include the full scenario instead of making this seems like bull#$$@.

I've already stated that those 4 lines are all there was. There literally was not a single other word said between the two of us. I cut the screenshot that small so as not to include the other party's name. If you want, I can provide the uncropped version, but that'd be breaking the "no names" taboo on forums.

Edit: So I don't have the original uncropped of those four lines, but I still have ss of the following conversation with same said person the next day. Also, this is not an attack on low level players by a high level player. This topic was about the fact that all you see in Edo and Echigo now are people looking to leech. As I said, leech parties are no longer possible due to the difficulty of Edo (And likely dungeons after Edo). Use the grouping board rather than sitting in town for hours upon hours looking for someone to help you. I'm 100% certain anyone who can or used to carry is too busy getting to the status where they can carry through Edo level dungeons again. As stated in another thread, farming Satan will probably take thousands of hours if you intend on getting multiple copies of the 108. Getting from level 107 to 108 alone is a challenge in itself since it takes 100m+ exp while the levels before it all took under 60m exp. Then come personal time commitments - I personally have to oversee the Onigiri wiki while managing my University grades.

As I said, this was not an attack on any single person, but a criticism on the community in general. People have grown too used to the idea of being able to leech through the entire plot line and it's starting to irritate quite a few people. Does this put things in perspective more?

I'd only like to said...
All of "us" (I mean players which start play from 1st weeks) carried and leeched most the time.
On case of that "we" learn new players to "LEECH" than work "on their own success".

I won't say about myself because of course "I leeched" most the levels by like "half support" on lower dungeons but...
Try remember Your own way to level up before Edo Map release.
Yes I'd will say it again "WE LET PEOPLE TO LEECH for MORE EXP" so now please don't complain if most low lvls are dissapointed.
We learn them to leech, even we leech most the time and it's only us own fault if now they quiting. Because "WE LEARN THEM HOW TO PLAY"

At all... I don't know who started that but players which HELPED OUT low lvls PASS THE STORY just to help them reach "Hermit Crab Grotto" for "HUGE EXP" make worse mistake ever which could happen there.
Why Kyoto-Shinoda Forest is empty? Kaga-Secluded Forest? Because You HELPED THEM GET TO THE GROTTO. Even 30 LvLs which even like leech.. should stay on ass in KYOTO up to 40-50 Lv.

So if we learn people to leech and "Don't know who" help people pass the story don't post damn screenshots of their RAGE if you ignore them while all of us learn them to wait/call/beg for help pass this game story and leech.

Back to one of quotes.. "Era of leech end" ... wrong... we just became so egoist and starting be rude for low levels. That's how it's looks like.
Only hypocrite would deny that.

And this is why u shouldnt help people through quest :D

Edit: Also if the players that were carried through the game didn't want to leech they didnt have to accept the invite from them its obvious they wanted to get carried in the first place other wise they could have just said no ty and kept going at their own pace.

A piece of psychology that is sometimes used in making games is that: people will always take the easiest route, even if it leads to boredom.
Well, there are exceptions like some people refusing to use ougi etc.

As for when getting carried became an acceptable route to some people, no idea :/

It really should never get to the point where people expect others to carry them. I can see how the situation arose more or less.
Person waiting on the spot for, maybe an hour-> "High level" player comes-> Irritated person asks for help->No response-> Result.

-I guess I should say, I have gotten carried before for xp and ryou but never to progress the story. That's where I draw the line, anyway.

""All of "us" (I mean players which start play from 1st weeks) carried and leeched most the time.""
Lol do not generalize because that is not true Since the time i started playing I have never been a leecher nor a carrier what I did is to find an afk party and done never sitting outside a dungeon waiting for someone who can carry me or help me with the story line or a quest or anything and I bet I am not the only one so do not generalize about All of us.
I don't understand half of what is wrote but is kinda implying that high lvl players teach them to leech lol is so confortable to just say that instead of trying to get better at playing or trying to get a better weapon or magas is like saying "Hey you teached me to be a leecher now you have to level me up is your fault than I can't carry my own weight so now take me to Edo" funny isnt?
and it is true leechers era maybe haven't end some people might start carrying soon that is good news for some players isnt? they might even level up again :)
