How does Ougi Dance of Ice fare vs. Thunder Spirit Beast or Crimson Smash on a Sword?

Looking at the skill force makes one go, "OH MY GOSH" but it isn't multi hit like TSB or CS right?

Contemplating if it is worth it to add Dance of Ice on my End of Days star, instead of dual thunder beast 6, since I have 4 swords with dual thunder beast 6 already.

It totals more damage than CFBS or TSB. The first slash is about 2.5m in range, but the icicle explosion afterwards can hit a single target up to 3 times if you aim it correctly. I've been using CFBS -> Dance of Ice on my Gaillardia (And my Dance is only rank 5 right now, Gaillardia only +80) and nothing survives that.

Since i never tried yet to upgrade skills that far, i was wondering if i didnt get the smelting artisan option Skill Evolution V description right, or if i have encountered a strange bug.

"Increases the rank of the lowest skill on the weapon. Does not affect Ougi type skills and skill of VI or higher." : that means that if i have 3 skills on my weapon that are all rank 5, a successful smelting using Skill Evolution V is gonna upgrade the first one to rank 6 ? It didnt do anything two times in a row, i am still with my rank 5 skills.

Rank 6 cannot be obtained via Yoshitsune's skill evolution.

Well, then the description should have been "does not allow you to get skills of VI or higher", or "does not affect skills of V or higher". The way it is said now it really looks like you can upgrade rank 5 skills to 6, and not to 7.

Plus at a failed attempt between the two success i did get a "max durability decrease prevented by artisan option" message, so it looked like that the durability protect option was used instead of the skill evolution 5 one.

Double Thunder Beast on End of Days (Any type) since EoD gives slice and lightning element. Thunder Beast is 30% slice 70% lightning. TSB is 30% impact 70% holy (Or 50-50, I forgot), CFBS is 30% impact 70% fire and the new Dance of Ice is 30% slice 70% ice. You gain the most using TB and not the other ougi. The only reason I used my Ougi 4 card on my Gaillardia instead of waiting for the new gargoyle raids (And consequently, the new ice element weapons), is because I have spare ougi extraction tickets and I wanted to test it out for myself. Plus, the only time a sword user doesn't really want to use TB is on Satan. If you intend on farming Satan, I recommend you try to avoid lightning element skills since he's heavily resistant.

I'd avoid double Dance of Ice since it has a fairly slow start up and you can't really cancel out of it from what I've tried so far. I personally haven't used TSB since the Echigo patch, so I don't know how its damage is now.

My current set-up is two TB on an Ichimonji Seirai and CFBS + Dance of Ice on my Gaillardia (Which used to be CFBS + TB).

That's great. I have 3x Ougi 4 cards so I was thinking on what to do. I might just save it for that sword or add it to Gaillardia. I am sort of tired of having to rely on crimson flame blast on Satan or other strong electric based enemies.

The wiki doesn't have information on the new gargoyle sword? Do you have any information how to obtain it and its stats?
