It's amusing how people are complaining that the event ended early, instead of being happy there was an event to begin with.

actually im not complaining about they removed the event too early,its about there too much giving OP reward item to the non cash player, im sure the company literally will bankrupt

While I am happy for an event like such as the new years event, I do think it's fairly unprofessional to not anticipate the result of such a big event. It is unfair to the players who counted on doing the event at a later time, without giving so much as a day or two's warning in advance.

I think they should have modified the event somewhat instead of taking it away completely. Going back on there word like that will only make players more pensive and untrustworthy of future events to come.

Regardless, I am happy I was one of the players who got to take advantage of what seemed to be a fairly large screw up on there part.

Player's should remember, in game or in real life, that it's impossible to plan for everything. Unfortunately due to the lack of communication between CS and the players, the problems aren't very clear and the consequences are unknown so it's difficult to tell how severe the problem really was. But sometimes problems come up and it may be beyond the knowledge of the staff to fix them, and the safest course of action may be to remove anything that's causing the issue.

Any former players of zOMG!, including myself, know this all too well. zOMG! went into a quick maintenance to patch a few issues, but without notice was permanently shut down after the staff discovered a huge security flaw that could ultimately compromise all +27 million accounts within Gaia Online.

I haven't touched any gaia online related stuff in a while. That's interesting to know.
But in the end, the one(s) running the company screwed up big time 2 years ago with a gacha that gave gold as a possible prize...lots of it. And you could get those gacha boxes with new accounts for free. Long story short: the economy is dead.

I hope that kind of thing doesn't happen here.

Agreed. I very much hope Onigiri doesn't end up like Gaia, which failed miserably to sustain its economy (the very core of the sites gameplay imho) after the owner switch. Although honestly, I don't think the two games are a good comparison at all.

Gaia is (in my eyes) a purely social site. zOMG was nothing but a shallow minigame used to allow them the title of "MMORPG", and very few people spent a lot of time and effort on it compared to other features of the site. It wasn't a big deal when they took it down, because it just wasn't the reason people used Gaia.

Onigiri has a little bit more to risk when they do these events. I know ALOT of former players who came back solely for the event, and judged weather they wanted to continue playing or not based on the quality of the event.

And even if we could compare it to zOMG, it's not like they are simply taking out a dungeon, city, or some other static factor of the game. Events are one time and one time only. A much greater responsibility rest on the Onigiri team when handling fresh and out of the ordinary gameplay scenarios in a MMO that basically runs off of repeatedly grinding the same dungeons over and over.

All in all, I'm not implying they were wrong for taking down the event, I just hope they be more careful considering the player base isn't exactly flourishing right now lol.

I have played Gaia online so I can sympathize with the fact that mmo's like social games as that one could have a security flaw. But we have to remember that Cyberstep is a full on game mmo publisher with three games under it's belt and not a social media site so I think there are too many ppl who forget to realize that in MMO's such as this 50% is made of social interaction with other players and the other 40% is made of gameplay and 10% events such as this making the entire 100% of the game.

Though I think this game has more security in itself to protect itself from the case of a event such as this, being a 1 time occurrence in all video game mmo's history such as many others. Lets all just be happy and still wish each other a happy new year and get on with playing the game that is Onigiri, so to my Fellow Oni's A happy 2015 And lets Play on~!!

Also I can say a there are more comparisons to games like this to Mabinogi of Nexon seeing both are actual MMOS. if a event was pulled out the game itself will still go on seeing the game publishers put a effort to fixing their mmo's while still letting there player base enjoy the game itself. To ppl who run Gaia which is a website filled with forums and flash games I wouldn't be surprised about the low security not so hard also to learn HTML coding.
