Partner AI bug?

Greetings,

While I was playing today, my AI partner (add name) keeps attacking the wind. Unless, there are hidden enemies, I'm not sure. I had to remove him/her and then add him/her again
Just so he/she can help me with my quest.

Is this normal? Or do I have to re-install my game again due updating problems?
